30BA code intermediate
Howdy, all!
Recently I've been having this 30BA error code DME injector 1,2,3 fault. It comes on sometimes and other times it doesn't (I have to pull the battery every time it comes on, then it becomes normal). Clearing codes doesn't help. The car was workly perfectly without this issue 2 weeks ago, it just started to do it again which is weird. If anyone can help me diagnose this it would be helpful. Hopefully, it's not the MOSFETs. |

what car is this?
Mosfets or fuel injectors or donor dme. Testing mosfets is easy there are many diy videos, replacing them places do it.

It's a 2010 335i n54 with msd81. its on mhd stage 1+ running index 12 injectors. Currently waiting for new injectors to come, but I will take out the msd81 and see if any MOSFETs are blown, I also heard that I would have to replace 3 of the coils if it's a MOSFETs issue (Is that true?). Is there any way to tell if it's the DME or not? The car works perfectly and only sometimes receives that issue.

Msd81 has lesser instances of blown mosfets and power supply than msd80. In my case msd80, it was the dme but the mosfets were fine. It was the ps.
Other difference car wouldn’t start w 30bb/ba all the time. Replaced w donor dme, using same fuel injectors etc. Its easy to check mosfets, guessing same w msd81 It apperas it is intermittent in you case. So could be injectors. There was a tsb w good description. Any other codes?

I had a similar issue and in my case it was a bad connection ( some cables to DME were loose ).
Also the best way to diagnose this is to measure the voltage to injectors (end of cable that connects to injector AND the pin from DME (if there is voltage from DME but no voltage on the injector connector then there is the problem with the cable... |
