Looking for help - painfuly slow acceleration under 3k rpm
So a little background.
e91 2008 2.0 320d n47 engine 88,000 miles Last year got turbo wine so had the turbo replaced. About 4 months ago, was trying to pull around a lorry on dual track, changed lanes, foot down a bit and nothing....nothing...nothing... then at 3k RPM turbo kicks in but seems like it overboosts, revs got 6k and has a bit of a clunky change, then lag again until 3k rpm. Had a scoure around and believed the MAF sensor could be at fault, Picked up a new 1 and viola, problem resolved.....until an#bout 1 month later. Car was absolutly fine until then now its back to the way it was. Could the MAF be faulty already? When I had my turbo replaced the mechanic said a glow plug had gone but as it started ok even in the cold I shouldnt be too concerned. Could it be that? Running out of ideas. I've also tried the throttle reset but noticed no difference, I have it booked in on 27th but hoping to resolve myself. I dont have a code scanner unfortuantly except a standard one which reports no errors. |

Will any garage be able to scan for underlying codes or does it need to be a specialist?
I thought maybe a leak but the problem is intermittent (forgot to add that) so ruled that out. Scanned it with my cheap ODB reader and returned no fault codes Last edited by RichRoberts44; 06-16-2022 at 01:09 PM.. |

Yes any garage with a decent machine will be able to scan it for you.

Sounds like a boost leak to me.
