Bumped *******

I know it's an old thread, but useful to me.
My fan suddenly died .
I have checked my Blower fan works on its own when supplied externally with 12V through an external Car Battery.
My RESISTOR also works as I took out and swapped with my wife's car. It works .
Also swapped my Climate control unit IHKA with my other car. WORKS...
All the rest of the buttons on Climate control work. The fan speed display is fine....
The 12V + supply is going to the RESISTOR module. Both positive and Negative....
Could some one please HELP.......

I have just purchased and have a similar issue. Gonna check the fuses now. One thing I noticed whilst fitting my stereo is that my climate control panel has 3 plug positions but only 2 plugged in. Have been unable to locate a stray plug? My control panel is p/n 64119129937 and the smaller, thinner plug not present

This just started to happen in my '11 E90... The blower motor will just randomly kill itself when set to where I normally have it (main and lower vents), but will come back when I set the air to come out the windshield defrost. I can get it to go back to normal if I shut the car off and turn it back on... any ideas??? I know the blower motors are known to go bad, but it works most of the time, it's almost at random when it does this.

E90 blower problem

Well I just wanted to share what I found through bench testing and trying to avoid replacing bunch of parts and wasting money. The blower fuse was good had 12v at the resistor connector but nothing coming out of it to the motor. Decided to bypass the resistor straight to the motor , it would not run. Was confused, put the multimeter to it and it showed 12v but then any kind of load was applied to the wires like a test light the voltage went to 0. I knew I was onto something. Turn out it was bad ground. I’ve yet to solve the problem, does anybody know there does ground to the blower come from? I know positive is on all the time and the blower is actually activated through ground. Any bmw gurus here that can help ?
