2009 328i oil change. What oil to use?
What am I supposed to run for oil in my 2009 BMW 328i? Every single oil change kit includes the "BMW Twin Power Turbo" oil.

Lots of opinions on what to run.
Can't go wrong with a BMW LL-01 certified oil. BMW 5w30 and Castrol 0w40 are both great choices.

How come we never talk about oil on this forum?
Bravo to the OP for bring up such a neglected topic! Now, back to our regular discussion on blinker-gear maintenance...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

IIRC BMW 5W-30 doesn't exist anymore; BMW now pushes 0W-30 for all. If that weight works for you, then still good; but some may hesitate. I'm considering alternatives. I believe there are a few online BMW retailers that even recommend a different oil so that you can maintain 5W-30 for older engines.
