Connected drive issues

Hi guys,
Maybe a dumb question but my car originally came with ccc business nav, I have retrofitted CIC pro nav with combox and bmw apps activated on the CIC.
Downloaded the app onto my phone but when I put my vin number in it says my vehicle is not registered with connected drive services.
Try to register on the connected drive website it just comes up with the below error?
Is this because my car could never originally be spec’d with connected drive? If so can I use my friends chassis number in the app and website to get it to work? Does the chassis on my CIC have to match the chassis stored in bmw app on my phone?

When you register you have to use the correct VIN.

That’s the point, I cannot register my vin with the connected drive website?

I cannot see anywhere to do this on the connected drive website, try adding my VIN online and it just says unavailable
