Looking good Scooba...They are a v good looking tourer. The 18"s set it off nicely.

Looks good, how are you finding it??
I have been waiting to order the new E Class estate with that engine, but I am hearing mixed reports on it. I sold the M3 and bought a 123d, had it mapped and I am loving it, hence why I thought I would sell the 3.2 A6 avant and buy the Merc, but few people have said not to expect it the perform like the BMW twin turbo 4 pot, so now I'm not sure what to do. Going to try and take one out in saloon form and then see, but would be interested in an honest impression. Other option is just keep the A6 till next year and order one of the new 5 series as soon as it is available. I bet they do a twin turbo 4 cyl diesel in that when it is launched. If I am going to go diesel it has to be frugal. |

I have done 300 miles
I am getting used to it now ,at first i couldnt make up my mind and thought what have i done, but now its growing on me
It is not as smoothas our e90 but thats a 325d with a 6 cyl diesel and i drive that more through choice than the Merc,Its quite a smart looking estate car imo. My biggest moan would be the noise from the engine i think its called a grunter on the MBforums ,otherwise it seams to pull all the way and i expect there are maps available despite having read somewhere there arent .Take one out and try before you buy |

If you're looking for more power from the new Blue Efficiency Merc's you have 2 routes..
1) re-map, which a lot of companies are having problems with, or 2) a tuning box.. Im not trying to sell anything here, but would like to mention the potential problems that you could face if you go for option 2. As the new engines are using Piezo injectors, theyre already running a lot higher pressure than the previous engines... Trying to tune via the common rail could result in catostrophic failure of your injectors.... The reason i know this is because the company i/we work with in Germany have developed a system for the Blue Efficiency range of engines that is a lot more complex. In a nutshell the system connects to common rail (a small % increase), the turbo pressure sensor (increases boost) and the crankshaft sensor which allows them to manipulate variables throughout the rev range. As ive said, im not trying to sell anything. Just warn you of the potential problems... |

Looks great mate. Any more pics? I do think the C Class Sport look really good. Are they 17" or 18" wheels?

Haven't changed tyres yet, will probably be next week.
I'm keeping this one standard. Considered the Brabus upgrade (thus keeping warranty intact), but decided it was too expensive, and TBH, pretty pointless. Alright, it would give a bit more acceleration, but at the end of the day, I'd still be driving about in a diesel estate. Would rather save the money and buy myself a weekend toy in the future. |

Nah....just didnt see the point...having spent £1k+ on the Treg (service, tyres, brakes etc) its going really well and so made no sense to change.
If we follow the 5 tourer plan then I will run that and give the E92 to the Mrs (she uses it most weekends anyway!! )

Sounds a good plan.
I have just got some quotes back on the new E Class estate for March, by the time they are both specced. the same the E350cdi works out cheaper a month than the E250cdi, only by £2, but just shows you initial purchase price means sod all. Need to decide what to do now, but like you our A6 Avant is running sweet, is only costing me £220 a month and I am liking it more now than I ever had. |
