No More delays, Though cloudy... DPE GT7 Wheels, ON THE CAR... and "Oh My"...
OK finally, No more "eventually". Got the DPE's mounted today and I am 100% pleased with the outcome. For Background feel free to check this thread.
The Wheels are awesome, the Tires are a revelation and I even like the way they look. Yeah, they are a little more "Boy racer" than I'd normally go for but on the coupe, I think it works. Once again. Big Thanks to Gary at the Tire Rack, Long Tran for the wheels, Group 2 Motorsports for being stand up folks, and Finally Vince at Discount Tire Company at Northgate for giving me the "white Glove" Mounting. Not a single power tool touched my car. ANYWAY... Wheels are: DPE GT7 19X9f ET35 Forged ally 2 piece With TPMS weighed in at 20.2lbs DPE GT7 19X10r ET35 Forged ally 2 piece With TPMS weighed in at 22.03lbs Tires are : 235/35ZR-19 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 weight 23.8lbs 265/30ZR-19 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 weight 25.9lbs Without Further Delay, here's the pics. Did you know these were made in Germany? It explains why they are so good. I was really concerned about the 265 rears looking stretched, but I am pleased to report that they do not. Lift kit installed... And finally in place... :rocks:

I'll follow these up with some better pics once I get some sunshine... Shooting Black wheels on a white car in overcast conditions is a bitch. I need Nikki or someone with some mad photo skills to handle this...

If they look a tad artificial thats because these last couple are multiple layers adjusted independently and in a hurry... gives them that slightly OFF look... I need a Photographer.

Rev, , They look great, and if you remember my PM about the stretching concern, that is gone, they fit perfect. I cant wait to get my wheels and tires mounted up now.
Again they look awesome on your ride |

Thanks, And Yes I do remember, and I am glad I listened to other folks here telling me repeatedly "NO WORRIES Good Years do not look too stretched at 265s on a ten inch wheel." Only small concern with the DPEs was the location of the REAR Valve stem and it's clearance of the Caliper. If I had gotten 18s there would be NO WAY it would work. I've got about 3 mils between caliper and valve stem on the rear. Front is not a problem oddly enough.
No rubbing, looks good and I love this tread.

Looks great, Revlis!!
You're still running on standard suspension right? Those wheels fill the wheel well nicely. How does the ride / tire noise compare to the 18" runflats? You just need to get rid of that scary orange thing on the front of your car now |

I like my scary Orange thing. Or Rather I do not dislike it enough to consider going to the trouble of replacing it. Not as long as I have the white car anyway, If I had the Montego it would already be gone though.

Tire noise seems to be a mixed a bag, quieter on good quality asphalt, just as or noisier than the OEMs on rough concrete. Might be my imagination. I did notice for sure though that they are quieter around town.
Ride Quality is head and shoulders improved... Within 100yards of leaving the tire shop I could tell the difference, much smoother, much better than stock. Small imperfections that would be harsh with the Bridgestones and SLAP are well muted and smoothed out. Turn in seems to be more direct, and overall the harshness is gone, nice and smooth much better. I did notice a bit of Left----Right wobble at about 40MPH and again at about 65MPH. I was thinking imbalance but I can stabilize the wheel and stop the "wobble"... Something you wouldn't be able to do with an imbalanced tire. Makes me wonder if there is something with the tread pulling left and right at certain speeds??? I dunno, I'll be heading back and have them checked. Much improved grip though... That's one I really noticed heading home. Straightline and turning, grip is much better.

Nah, no drop. I'm pretty happy the way it sits. I don't want to end up tip toeing around everywhere worried about scraping this or that. If I didn't use it as my daily driver, I'd drop it in the weeds, but as it is, with the roads and driveways we have up here, I'm good.

Looks very good. I used to not really like black wheels on a white car, until I came to this forum. I have since changed my mind.
I have the exact same tires sitting in my garage right now, waiting for my Vs7's to arrive on Monday.
