I use Windows 7 64-bit and I was able to code fine on my car with NCS Expert, no need to use a virtual machine.

I'm not sure about that. Last time I tried to install all software to Macbook with virtualized Windows and it didn't work. I mean there was some issue with cable drivers. You can try, maybe software for virtualization was not too good.

Of course, Standard tools 2.12 is availble from the end of 2012 and works with Windows 64 bit

As long as you are using all the latest SW. Everything will run perfectly on WIN 7 64bit and yes on the Mac (using boot camp). No issues at all. Anyone not sure what to do should just reach out the forum member ******. You will be up and running in no time with everything you need.

For the beginners such as myself, i had a hardtime trying to find everything i need to download, i had to go to website after website, then i had to figure out how to update these programs.

Using all the DIYs i found out there (thank you all who contributed) i downloaded everything and put it together in one place to make it easier for someone who is just starting out.
