Smile 320i Badge

Hello all new member, just ordered 318i Se in jet black for early June delivery.
Can someone tell me where can I get a 320i badge from to replace the 318i badge.
Had a look at ebay and the 320i sells for $25 and $8 for postage all the other badges seem to be seling in £s. (Looked abit steep). Also on the pics it seems to be on a older 3 series the one before the E90. Did it use the same style lettering? I thought about no modle inscreption but I dont like it blank.
Does anyone know how much a dealer charges? Is it also true that the 318 is the same engine as the 320 but with less bhp?

318 is a 2.0L 4 cylinder engine, the 320 is a 2.2L straight six. You can buy the badges from any dealer, they are not cheap, around £12-15 each.

IMO, no model inscription looks better, the rear end looks cleaner overall. I debadged my 335D. If you want, you can have my badge, but I wouldn't do it myself .....

What wouldn't you do yourself? Debadging or fitting a new one? I thought it was just stuck on with double sided tape.

I wouldn't badge the car above what it is.

Why do you want the badge from a different car?

The best way to get a 320i badge would be to buy a 320i

Is it not true that all 6 cylinder models have two exhaust tailpipes... so I guess to an expert they would know it wasn't a real 320i

Actually, can I have the 335d badge please.. I could then use my own numbers and the extra 5 to make my own car a 355i

This is wrong. On the E46 the 320 was a six, but in the E90 320i is a 2 l four cylinder. This is common knowledge. You have to go for a 325i( or D) to get a straight six.

De-badge your 318i or leave it on. NEVER change it to something it is not, that recieves no respect at all and people in the know will know what you really have anyway and laugh at you for doing it. True BMW fans respect all BM sized engines and drivers. Drivers with bigger engines/ more expensive models are normally more humble and do not knock those who drive smaller engines. Don't be embarassed by what you drive, you have a new beemer and that is better than most people.
For the record i de-badged my 335i.

I thought both the 318 and 320 have the same engine and both are 4 cylinder not 6 cylinder for the 320. The 318 being slightly de-tuned?

Im thinking of getting mine chipped but does 8BHP gain really make a diffrence?

why advertise that you didn't shell out for a bigger engine.

take comfort from what you HAVE got, a classy, well built, good handling and quick car.

Debadge or stick with what you've got.

Don't do it - debadge is the better option.

But isn't debadging just the same?

Our M3 was debadged by the previous owner and the dealer wanted a lot of money for the proper badge.

Some people debadge for the cleaner look.

In the uk though, it's generally the lower end cars that are debadged so people don't know what it is. Apparantly in Germany "less is more" and it's the higher end cars that are debadged!

I don't think there would be any way to tell the difference the 318i has the same exterior options and wheels.

Both have 4cylinder engines, single exhaust, black grille and black plastic shadowline.

I wouldn't fiddle the badge though. It's not as if a 320i is significantly more impressive than a 318i.

They are both toward the lower end of the product range, but in SE form you get all sorts of nice bits and the handling is just as good as you would get with a 335i.

A 318i is nothing to be ashamed of - wear you badge with pride.

I debadged the 320d and I'll debadge the 335. Can't see the reason for a model inscription on a car. IMO the back of the car looks better without a badge plus its easier to clean/wax aswell. It also attracts less attention.
