Reasonable customer service?
So back in October I bought a set of led bulbs for my angel eyes, and today one has failed. As the bulbs come with a 12 month warranty, I have contacted the vendor and explained the situation sending pictures of the car with a light out, a picture of the warning on the idrive, a screenshot of the PayPal transaction and a screenshot of the feedback the vendor left me. The vendor has come back to me apologising for what's happened, but they need me to send the faulty bulb back (and cover the cost myself) before they will send out a replacement. Now as we all know changing the angel eye bulbs on a E90 is a bit of a ball ache due to having to lift the car, remove the wheel and the arch liner. So I have replied to them saying that I will return the faulty bulb once I've recieved the new on as I don't want to do the job twice due to the amount of work involved.
Do you guys think I'm being unreasonable or is the vendor being unreasonable? If it comes to it I'll just buy some from somewhere else and then send the old ones back and ask for a refund. |

These are the ones I bought and they are from top rated ebay seller 'Lush-uk'.

I understand their point of view, they don't want people trying to get extra bulbs when the old ones are still good. But at the same time I don't care, if they don't trust me I don't want to buy from them.

Yeah I kind of understand too, but in the past I've had a few led's fail in my house and each time I've contacted the seller (led hut) and they have been absolutely fantastic and not even questioned me and just sent a replacement. I've even asked them on the phone if they want the old ones back and each time they've said no I don't need to worry about it.
With regards to my car bulbs, I wouldn't mind sending them and if they really want them I will return them, but I am not doing the job twice. I also explained to them that one of the reasons I wanted led's was for reliability so I wouldn't have to replace them for many years. Hopefully they'll see it from my point of view, but I doubt it! |

Angel eyes fixed!
I remember when I fitted them, the plastic plugs were really loose fitting so decided to check them. Managed to access them from the top and found one had come apart completely and the other had come apart just enough to break the connection (my other angel eye stopped working this morning). Plugged both back in and hey presto, lights working. When I can be bothered I'll get in there properly and wrap the plugs in self amalgamating tape to both protect them and stop them from coming apart again. |
