I'm thinking of getting a 135i, it'll be my 3 season car. I don't really mind paying to have it blasted once a year in the spring.

Does Leslie still do walnut blasting? I changed my plugs and one coil after the sudden onset of sever misfire resulting in lots of engine shaking and loss of power. Repair fixed it but there is still a small stutter at idle. 104,000 km without a cleaning.

Thanks!

Man I was considering buying that.

But I'm afraid, doesn't all the carbon junk end up in the turbo?

In the turbo ? Its the other way around lol. From the turbo into the engine combustion chamber. Charge pipe is between turbo charged air and intake..

No but on the exhaust side. Some carbon chunks could come of and they can go in the exhaust gas to make the turbo spin no?

I would be more worried about scored cylinder walls than turbo but i see your concern. I would say very unlikely.. Blast them first then maintain them..

Yeah why I want to do it like you say regularly won't have big chunks.

I'm at 97 000KM you think should be fine for the CRC sprayer? Might do it after winter.

If you haven't done the walnut blasting yet and it has 97,000km, you'll 100% have some solid buildup.

But yes it could be possible that the CRC cleaner may loosen deposits which could then find its way into the cylinder chamber and out through the turbo. Many people might not care but in my opinion the turbo seals are delicate already and I push those things hard enough. I don't want to worry about stuff getting caught in them.

Think about getting a catch can to prevent buildup. Might be able to stay on top of the cleaning then.

I'm moving to London at the end of the month and I'm looking to have my 2015 335 walnut blasted soon. Not sure it really needs it at 100k but it's more preventative I guess. I've read some good things about Leslie but the posts were 2-3 years old. Is he still doing it or is Paradigm the new go to?

I think Leslie is no longer at paradigm.
I can't vouch for the shop under the new ownership (no experience).

BUT down the street is Unique Workshop, Victor is knowledgeable and well priced.

For walnut blasting, our own member Nachos23 can help for a good price. Located in Whitby.

He replied to the other thread, so I'm guessing he's seen his PMs now too.

Good luck!

Finally had this done!

Nachos23 is the man.

Thanks for the professional service, attention to detail, and care for the car.
Truly enjoyed holding the light for you and the chit chat while the work was being done.

Had mine done with Nachos23 a week ago, car runs smooth, good quality work and makes you check each intake valves after for your satisfaction.

This is only for n54? I did a quick search for walnut blasting w/ n52 and the responses that I read said that it really wasn't needed.
