1) Model and Transmission 135i
2) Elevation, Temp and Humidity. 70ish
3) All performance modifications done to the car single turbo
4) Level of gas ran and how much gas in the tank? (ex: 93 octane and 1/4 of a tank) full e85
5) Any weight reduction done to the car?? (ex: removal of rear seats)
4) Type of tires and rims?? (size and weight if possible). Style 68 mickeys
5) Years of driving the type of transmission?? (this goes for mainly manual transmission, so if you are relatively new and are an "ok" driver let us know, this def makes a difference)
6) Obviously some type of proof of your 0-60 time, trap speed and finally quarter mile time. Preferably some video or slip or link to the drag time slip website to your direct slip.

First time drag racers

Decided to throw caution to the wind and take my son and son in law and both cars to the track a little earlier this year. Turned down boost on both cars as it was their first time drag racing and really driving the cars so there was reason for concern lol. They both ran mid 12's first time in the XI and 11's the first time (2nd pass ever) in the 335i and most importantly no issues the whole day. Needless to say we had a blast and they are hooked. Turned the boost up on the 335i to race my friends red 335i. Ran a 11.3 @128 with first gear turned down to 8psi due to bad prep but was happy to win. Link to a couple Vid's below and some of the slips.

Nice, 11.3 is great. If you can improve your 60' you might get into the 10's.
What was your Wheel and tire setup?

Thanks... 275/40/17 NT05R's on 17x9.5 Apex arc 8's in Satin. I run them with matching 18's on the front and you can't really tell...actually looks better than the 18's on the back...highly recommended tires as I can't feel the sidewall difference.

If your RWD, you should be launching in 2nd gear. That should get you into the 1.8 60ft times and into the high 10's.

The car is quicker with a 1st gear launch with the Sutphin trans flash. I cut a 1.79 on my 11.25 but the car dead hooked so I knew I needed to build more boost off the line. Track prep was great that day but only got 2 cracks at it. You can see it in the vid a page back that it was slow for 1/2 of 1st gear. I would like to try some E85 as well.

I don't know much about that trans flash as many use xHP, but either way your losing .2 to .3 from the 1-2 shift no matter how fast it shifts.

Actually check out the red car in the video and the time slip as it left in second and I left in 1st and that was the difference in the race... and no the Sutphin flash is a different animal than XHP. Agreed a second gear launch is better with poor tires but guys running in the 10's are not leaving in second.

Nice. I run 17x10 ARC8s on the rear with 18s up front as well. I'm running R888Rs and man they hook so much better than 18s.

Well, our local track finally had a test n tune day after 18 months of covid shutting down the track. No power added in 18 months, just much needed maintenance and some weight reduction

4 passes, 4 new Personal best times.
my previous PB was 11.46 @ 120

First pass



Next 2 passes tried 2 different tunes with just different line pressure, EXACTLY THE SAME TIMES ?!?!



Final run of the day was the best and a new PB

Ill post the 0-60mph from dragy and ill try to post the video and the slip from it in the next day or 2.

i've had it for the whole 2019 racing season, probably 45 passes on it in 2019

no issues, no leaks, no noises. Car doesnt hook hard right anymore when it spins, much easier to stay on it when it spins.

My local track just opened up this weekend as well. Here is my slip. Launching in 2nd, shifting at 6500rpms. Running rb ones with E40 custom tune. Full weight. I also had a full tank of gas because I wasn't expecting to hit the track that day........

yes, since i flushed the trans and installed new tcu, shift times have improved, and in the process of getting a custom trans tune as well so in 5th when crossing the line.

Thanks for all your input. For some reason I always thought you were riding out 4th gear threw the line. Unless this is something you just starting doing after the tranny flush.

i was staying in 4th before now shifts are faster so i go to 5th. I also installed a 3.5 tmap so after reworking the tune now i actually see the right psi up top and shift early at 5300 to keep the psi at 20-21
