GTRZilla did X-Pipe because he converted his 328 to dual exhaust. Agree, not relevant to you.

And keep your resonator, or replace it with a vibrant one. Don't delete.

2nd cat delete + resonator delete + PE does not drone.

Does 2nd cat delete + resonator delete + magnaflow drone?

F10-N52 still has his res so we don't know (unless someone else chimes in).

Stock PE (full, not axle back) already does a res delete, so perhaps that muffler is designed accordingly.

drone is basically minimal with my setup, if any. you will notice drone at first, but after following the break in process (some full throttle pulls really helped the ECU learn my new setup) the exhaust sounded alot smoother and better.

I will be leaving my resonator alone. only other plan exhaust - wise will be headers (eventually)

If you want the header, yeah, I wouldn't touch the resonator to see if you like it like that first. Leave me your contact in pm

drop 2 cats, add magnaflow y pipe right after, add 1 resonator after both exhaust pipes go into one & whatever muffler of your choice.

Depending on how loud you want it. this will require a lot of custom work, but should be much cheaper then PE in the end & produce more power.

by the two cats, you mean secondary cats right?

I ended up driving around with a secondary cat delete for maybe 3 months or so and while the engine sound was good, it was still way too quiet.

I ended up fitting a Magnaflow muffler on a couple days ago. the more the ECU adjusts, the better it sounds.. especially after some full throttle pulls. I am really loving it.

Next step will be headers.

I feel like my current setup with secondary delete with magnaflow muffler is awesome. I love the exhaust note and its not overly annoying or anything like that.

do you think it will be too loud with headers? i really want to install some closer to the summer.

Headers definitely going to add some volume! If you find it's too much, you may consider adding a vibrant resonator to the setup to help tone it down a bit.

Or put back the secondaries to help with noise and some backpressure? I'm no expert, so this may or may not be a good idea. lol

If you want the headers, I'd say go for it, and then if it's too loud, try to solve it then (rather than solving a hypothetical problem that may or may not exist).

do the headers, they will increase flow a lot.

you may be able to keep the sound down with a res, or need to swap mufflers depending on how it is at idle and threw the rev range.

But i would buy em for sure. headers + all bolt ons & a tune is good for 240rw. (+/- 5/7hp, depending on trans & dyno)

So I have some questions about how to do the PE mod on the 328i with a single muffler and what parts I need http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=739970 can i just go off of this thread and follow the instructions or is the internal part of my muffler different then the one in this post.

Me and my buddy thought the other day. Why not just get a 135i stock exhaust and put it on our n52 cars. If you YouTube 125i/128i with 135i muffler, there is a video where it sounds like performance exhaust, cheap used and its single sided with dual tips like a stock 32Xi muffler

headers with ECU tune can yield almost 15hp and 20 torque.

the PE mod muffler will sound better then magnaflow. be sure to also delete your secondary cats for good PE type sound and some burbles.

I've heard that the 135i muffler is barely louder or almost the same. why not just PE mod it?

PE mod means modifying OEM muffler. Magnaflow is another good option but is not the same as PE mod.

I wonder the difference between a 135 PE mod muffler vs 328 PE mod.

Also, assuming 128 and 328 mufflers are the same??

328i pe mod flows better. someone said that the 135i muffler, 128 328i are all the same and almost no difference. 135 maybe slightly louder

I don't think that 135i exhaust is the same as 125/128. This video clearly proves it wrong

Unless it's fake, but doesn't sound like it's turbo, so definitely a 125/128 or 130i. 328i PE mod sounds shitty compared to the stock 135i muffler. Even the people that put stock 335i mufflers on their 328i, it sounds similar to this one. Mine is obviously louder with PE mod on 335i muffler

As to this, not the same...

And here is that same 125 or 128i with the stock exhaust. So whoever said that 135i muffler is the same as 12x is wrong
