Things you really hate about your car

I'll begin.

1. I can't tell if my automatic windshield wipers are on. In my car, there's a green light on the right steering wheel stalk that's lit if you turned it on, however, you can't see it since it's behind the steering wheel. What brilliant engineer thought of that ??

2. My car breaks down all the time but that's "normal" for an n54.

3. I had leaking tire which couldn't be fixed which meant I had to replace all 4 tires since I have xDrive. That sucked big time and cost a shit load

4. The seat belt "butler" or whatever it's called fails most of the time. That's an engineering fail.

The snowflake comes second to the automatic wipers, which are schizophrenic. Whatever the actual amount of wiper is needed its guaranteed that it wont be doing that.

Edit: another thing wagon edition. WTF does the rear wiper be the setting that sticks when you turn the car off but the automatic wiper doesnt?

The melted passenger door handle.
The electric water pump that will go without warning.
The shitty inconsistent output of the pre LCI angel eyes. And a few of the ones mentioned above also.

I hate the dents on my car. Few are my fault. Other than that with all flaws I don't hate anything else about it.

- Like the auto wiper light, the heated steering wheel button/light is hidden behind the wheel
- Spraying the windshield requires you to turn off the rear wiper (wagon)
- There’s no gap for an aux cord to come out of the arm rest, so you have to crush the cord

  • Cold ambient temp chime. Annoying
  • Fickle minded auto wiper speed
  • Insert key and press Start. Just asinine.
  • Scizopheranic auto climate fan speeds.

The 37 deg. notification goes back to the 1980's so I'm used to that.

I have noticed that when the rain sensor is activated, it controls the speed of the HVAC blower fan by keeping it 1 or 2 stages higher than it needs to be. My theory on the rain-sensing wipers is they don't work well once the windshield gets some miles on it and is pitted because the rain sensor is then degraded. I think the degraded state of the rain sensor keeps the wipers from wiping at the right time and keeps the blower speed artificially too high. I guess the engineers never considered the condition of the glass would change over time.

My 2 cents.

My auto wipers seem to work pretty well. I never really cared about the light because I don't need to look at the stalk to turn them on...

Same and I don't see how you can forget that your wipers are on They're going to wipe within like 5-10 seconds.

I hate that we have a 1 car garage and it's hard to get out. Now I have the snowblower blocking it. This translates to 1200-1500 miles/yr. I can't imagine what it'd be like driving it daily, it's by far the best car I've ever owned for driving.

It's one of my favorite features! I guess the lack of a detent like on the e9x's is gone, where BMW went to traditional stalks that move and stay in place in their various positions. And it's genius that BMW has auto, "and" intermittent.

My Lexus has off, auto, low, high. No intermittent. So that is a pita when the glass if fogged up, unnecessarily, the wipers are on low. One feature it does have that is cool, is that when on low, and the vehicle stops, it switches to auto.

I find it funny how the new 8 series now has detents on the stalks lol

I actually quite like no detents, makes it more "modern" and electronic.

My 2 cents.
I have a brand new windshield and have reinitialized it.
still sucks. Next thing is to attempt recoding it's sensitivity range.

The one on my wife's volvo has always worked flawlessly, and it has an original 2004 windshield.

My gripe, in addition to those mentioned, leaky washer bottle.
and the fact that the triangle warning remains in the cluster after it notifies you that it's low.
