"Die a hero or live long enough to become the villain"

I ended up buying a house and the project have been totally sidelined for the last six months. Prior to that I had been focusing more on my motorcycle build than the car. Priorities have shifted and I'm not sure if I'll continue with this specific sub-project as the direction of "the build" is changing from a track toy E90 to a daily driven E91, something I can enjoy more readily.

However, in the interim I have sourced E9x M3 calipers + rotors and they JUST clear the 17x9.5 Apex ARC-8 (for those interested).

I haven't forgotten about this thread and definitely plan on keeping it updated as the project progresses.

I bet the holes as such would withstand even if filed-through open, calipers surely might be filed quite deep too, the grooves would stabilize them to the spindle, minor force needed to hold them in place...
It may sound stupid, but I had loosen I caliper bolt and the caliper was moving/swinging around each time I pressed the brake pedal.. for some 80km or so... no major impact on anything apart from the scratched inner side of the wheel... that gives you the idea how over-secured these joints are... one loosen bolt manages the job to slow down the car...
The 18z axial mounts would stick the caliper way too far out to be able to cram the whole design under the 17x9.5 Apex ARC-8. That's the real design choke-point, unfortunately. If I went with an 18" or 19" wheel I could clear a larger rotor in the fronts which would have made this a lot easier but also increased consumable costs for the rotor and tires, as well as increasing un-sprung weight in a situation where I'm already fighting with weight.

A fairly easy project. All it takes is a properly machined mounting bracket.

Unfortunately fitting it all under a 17" rim makes the bracketry far from easy.

I just did the same thing to my 2006 E90 325i. Turned it into my track car.

That's why radial mount calipers are a better choice. Axial is always a pain.

Hi I know this thread is old but did anyone already make a bracket for the 18z set front and rear for e92 yet? Trying to run the front and rear on mine but need the adapter brackets for it.
