225/50r17 winter wheels

Hi all, have an e91 w/ sport suspension and a set of 4x 225/50r17 tyres and wheels, 7.5j et34, from an F series.
I know the proper tyre size should be 225/45r17, just wondering if anyone has run 225/50r17s on a sport model before.
Clearance on the ground seems fine with the tyre not touching the strut perch.

yes me. it fits fine in fact gives you a little better ground clearance and distance to rim for pothole durability. I also run +5 sidewalls for summer 225/45R18 front and 255/40R18 rear and that not only fits but looks better as well. The speedo is also rendered accurate for the first time.
