KONI STR.T Lowering Kit work with factory springs?

I have a 2011 rwd 328i and i'm looking to replace my suspensions soon.

KONI STR.T Lowering Kit - 1125 1013 is on sale right now for $349 on bavauto with $70 rebate. So $279

I don't want the lowering springs since this is a DD can I get the kit put it on my factory springs and sell the lowering springs?

Am I missing something or is this a good deal?

I don't know how much I can sell the springs for but even for $100 I will be getting new shocks/struts for less than $200.

Those shocks are basically a stock sport shock replacement. The price you listed sounds like only shocks, if it comes with springs then it is a great deal assuming you dont want improved performance.

"This full-car kit features a set of KONI's STR.T shocks and precisely tuned Eibach sport springs."

I'm just looking for stock, don't really need more performance on this car. I mean if those are the same sport springs I see on amazon for $250 and I can sell them for close to that, I get the shocks almost for free

Yup, it's designed to work with stock springs, equivalent to an OE shock replacement option. Lowering springs are NOT recommend with the STR.T.

As a frugal weekend-mechanic, this would be considered a good deal, especially with the rebate.

You can sell the springs for $150-175. If they had this deal for xi, I would be getting this.

I've purchased Koni STR.Ts for my other car and they were rusted out and 3 of the 4 had blown completely within about a year.

Buyer beware. They are budget dampers that will not last.

I feel like that price is too good to be true, knowing what wholesale is supposed to be. Take the deal if you can get them that cheap though.

Can?t recommend these. Me and a few friends tried them on another platform and they either blew or started to squeak within the first year.

Doesn't the koni stuff comes with a life time warranty. Did you ever try to replace them?

Yeah, and they did. I sold the new set ASAP. Do you really want to be pulling your rusted, blown suspension off your car once a year?

Also its completely up to them whether they warranty them and if they decide not to youre out the cost of the new ones.

I went for a similar deal on ECS. I've had them installed for a month now and they're great on the factory sport springs. No complaints.

Curious if you or anyone else noticed a reduction, or hopefully a complete elimination, in the ridiculous hissing noises the front OEM struts make when you used the Konis. Tired of mine sounding like I have snakes damping my ride when I drive with the windows down. Any feedback appreciated.

Definitely less than my blown factory struts.

Thanks for the feedback. Due to pricing and road-condition concerns, I think I'll be getting the Bilstein B4 replacements at all 4 corners.
