Anyone experience this problem before? I don't have time to take it to the dealer till Saturday and can't even read the manual to look up this malfunction because it's too big to fit in the glove box

Which fuse is for the trunk of the 2009 328i Sedan. I am down to this last resort. I also checked the manual and didnt see anything labeled trunk or boot. My guess would be Fuse 56 or 57 labeled Central Locking System, but I am not sure. Any thoughts??

PS: I have tried everything on this post. There is no sound or action made at all when I use either of my two key fobs, and no sound or action when I push the trunk release button under the driver's seat. I have toggled the Valet Switch several times and it still doesnt work. My model does NOT have a place to insert the physical key. AS A BONUS: Every now and then, the Trunk Open indicator will flash on the dashboard. I have also tried applying pressure to the trunk to ensure that it is closed. It is 100% closed, no doubt about it.

I'm glad your issue wasn't like mine. I made the bone head move of disconnecting the battery and shutting the trunk (it started raining really hard while I was working on the car) and that's when I found out there is no key hole on my car for the trunk, or access from the back seat at all. That a was a fun job. Not even the dealer or BMW knew how to get it open. This resulted in a hole being drilled behind my back seat center console.

Hi all, I have a 1998 BMW 328i Convertible that does not have a valet switch in the glove box. The key fob can lock and unlock the doors but it won't unlock the trunk. I tried using the key in the trunk key hole but it won't unlock either. Any idea how I can fix this?
THanks

The value of a nearly 13-year old post!! I was flummoxed for about a month, thinking it was another "undocumented feature" in the BMW. Well, I found the valet switch, and that was my problem. Almost went for the major repair and trip to the shop. Thank you, thank you. AND I found the flashlight! Bonus!

I have an e92 and am experiencing this issue as well. I tried the valet switch (locking then unlocking) but am still experiencing the same issue. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
