diagnosing CA issue

Hey guys my comfort access just stopped working completely. I can't unlock the car nor start it up without putting the key in ignition. I changed remote battery and it unlocks and locks the doors but the care just does not detect the key. I have coding stuff but how do i check to see the error?

Load up INPA and check codes. Post up the CAS codes. Here is a video link from YouTube.

Diversity antenna failure is the main cause of CA failure.
(with the symptoms you describe)
I suppose you changed the battery in the FOB and
checked the car battery as well just to get that out of
the way.

Yeah, although wouldnt a failed diversity antenna make it so that i would need to by right next to the car to unlock with remote or not at all? My remote works perfectly fine otherwise

so you are saying it works as a normal Fob just doesn't unlock
when you put your hand on the handle or lock with the same action?
Have you tried opening the trunk with the car locked.

Tried fuse 61 or whatever the CA module fuse is in your car.

I have changed the battery in both my CA fobs and had no issues.

I had the same issue, although mine was working intermittently. I had to be very close to the car for the key fob to work. I changed out the FBD module on my E93, which is in the rear mirror. Location is different depending on your model. You will have to do some research. CA works flawlessly again after the FBD module replacement.

FBD module is a part of the Diversity antenna.

It was about a year ago that I troubleshoot this, thanks to this man by the username Mashman from Austin. He'd helped me out a bit with this.
