Turbo inlet pipe... more sound?
Can anyone comment on if the upgraded turbo inlet pipe (from Pure and VRSF) will increase the wooshy intake and diverter valve noise? I figure it might because the stock piece is plastic and restrictive.
I just installed an Injen intake and am loving the sound!

My experience is that intake, catless dp and exhaust would give the most sound - per mod wise. The inlet and outlet pipes don't make a discernible difference. The OEM pipes are not that restrictive. they are just brittle.

Inlet pipe might make a slightly noticeable sound difference on a stock intake. Already having the Injen you won't notice anything. Inlet is a good idea when going to a PS2 turbo, doesn't help much on stock turbo.

It may increase the sound but I wouldn't think the increase would be noticeable to the driver. I think leaving the stock inlet in place makes more sense for the stock turbo. It offers a clean transition into the compressor wheel. Aftermarket inlets are designed to match the PS2 compressor's inlet. In my opinion by adding it to the stock turbo you're creating more turbulent air.

I don't think it would be all that impactful but any gains someone thought they might make with a larger diameter pipe would probably be lost due to the turbulence.
