2AAF Fuel Pump Plausibility
I've been having the 2AAF Fuel Pump Plausibility code coming up for quite a while now. I've researched this code and pretty much everyone says don't worry about it unless you have another code with it as well. The only other code I also have is 2C77 which is post cat o2 sensor and I've had this code for over a year and doesn't seem relevant to the 2AAF. At this point I'm not sure if I should be worried about the 2AAF but it keeps coming back every time I clear it so there may be something going on. I also need this code to go away because I am due for California smog and can't have any codes or it's a fail. What can I do to get arid of this code or is there anything I can look for on my logs. To add some background my car is FBO w/inlets and outlets with stock fueling. Generally I run MHD with E85 but for the past couple months I have been on stock tune and this 2AAF has been coming up for maybe two months now with stock tune and no E85.

Mine came up before replacing the low pressure fuel sensor. Cheap and easy to replace... try that first. EKPM is also a possibility as said here.

How were you running e85 with a stock fuel pump?
Also this code can be tune related, you said you had full bolt ons and now you're on the stock tune. All the bolt ons including inlets still on I'm assuming? Also could be a boost leak, this is what was causing my 2AAF code. |

I thought about the fuel pressure sensor but I would rather not be throwing money at unnecessary parts any idea if I can check logs or anything that would verify this?
I was running around 40% E85 on a custom MHD tune. For the past two months I've had MHD uninstalled and running completely stock tune but yes all the bolts ons are still on including inlets/outlets. That's very odd that boost leak can cause 2AAF I don't believe I have any leaks but I'll see if I can double check that. |

I'm getting this same code along with a German fuel pump shadow codee, and longgg cranks. Is there anyway to check for sure that the fuel pump is on the way out?

Is this a current active code or is it a shadow code? Regardless, it doesn't set a check engine light so why should CA inspection care? It is not related to emissions. I'm not a CA resident but I'm willing to bet that 2AAF will not prevent you passing smog check. Be more worried about them sticking a mirror in there and seeing your catless DPs (actually I think in CA you'd fail visual just for your inlets, outlets and non-OEM airfilters- all pretty easy to see.) |

I have a 2aaf shadow code but it only started showing up after I installed a new LPFP. Weird I know. Yes, you are correct in that if it shows up by itself, you have nothing to worry about. |

Is your car stock or tuned?
If tuned, I would ignore it unless you are having issues. It is known to show up on tuned cars, I've had it since I tuned my car, and even after replacing an actual failing high pressue fuel pump(which my car could barely drive) and still have the code now, years later. |

This 2AAF just popped up on mine too during a log pull. Running a St1 91 MHD flash with a VSRF 5” HD, ER CP and Turbosmart Kompact Dual Ports all recently installed.
A 30FF code also appeared with CEL. Logs didn’t look out of the ordinary compared to a previous run without 30FF but I suppose the boost lines and hoses warrant a check anyway. |
