N54 ST Build - Questions on fueling

Hey,

So I will be swapping my twins out for a bigger single turbo, the kit will be a on3 kit with a garett gtx3582 BB turbo. What WHP do you think I will hit before fueling is not enough? Last owner ran ST on this car and I believe he said 18psi was the max until the fuel pressure wasn't as high as wanted.

I am not sure on running jb4 vs aic6 or motiv's new controller so I'd like to hold off PI for a while but if I can "Only" run like 400whp on ST I will be going PI immedietaly.

TL;DR What do you think will be achievable WHP-wise without port injection on a on3 kit with Garrett GTX3582 turbo? Also what PI controller do you run or recommend? JB4, AIC6 or motivs new solution?

Thanks.

PSI is only part of the equation as not every turbo will move same amount of air at 18psi. I had G Force III controller that I ditched for JB4. I can sell you the controller for cheap.

Leaning towards JB4.
Also I know every turbo does not move same amount of air at 18psi. But last owner was running a similar turbo, hence the numbers. I figured he ran full e85 though so he got less fuel than if I am to run 93 or e40 mix in the beginning.

Will start without PI probably on 93 or an ethanol blend, then probably get the PI later on.

500 whp is around the number people start needing pi or that spool helix overdrive. If you're running a turbo that large I don't see any reason not to get PI now since fuel will be the biggest limiting factor in making power. You didn't mention what lpfp you have but I'm assuming you have an upgraded one. Ethanol seems to kill hpfp quicker so that's worth thinking about. The theory is that pi takes the stress off the hpfp although I'm not sure how true that is.

I ran the BMS pi controller with the jb4 and it never gave me any issues. Stay away from Motiv, they make nice stuff but the general lack of support and customer service is enough for me to say no thanks.

Are you stuck with the on3 kit? It is less than ideal for a variety of reasons.

In general a GTX3582 gen2 is a 82 lb/m turbo. You can hit roughly 500 whp on 93 pump on a single turbo of that size with the stock injectors and no PI at redline. More if you run meth. E85 will require PI obviously. Unless you trust the overdriven HPFPs.

At a minimum you want a 'stage 2' pump which is a walbro 450. Personally I would go with a Walbro 450 (F90000274) and a Walbro 525 (F90000285) at a minimum if there is any chance you will ever run E85.

Thanks. I am probably also gonna run BMS PI controller with JB4 in the future.
I will go PI in the future but the problem is always money lol... So I'll start off a this coming summer or maybe only a few months of summer without PI.

I could try and sell the on3 kit, but yes. I'd say I am stuck with it. I am going to run 2x Walbro 450 or 1x 450 and 1x 525 as you mention. Already have 1 walbro 450 so just need to buy the second pump.
