Me, I drove both a 335i and 335d. I was like, 265hp vs 300hp and 36mpg vs 28mpg. Used it was awash in price difference, so diesel I went. Basically all the power and more fuel economy, why not?

plus I liked the torque and instant response in mine.

I just spent 2 weeks in Ireland driving a diesel rental, its really a great city engine, never seems strained and plenty of power. I had a Renault with a 1.5 turbo diesel with 90hp, it actually seemed fine (at Ireland low speeds).
