Whichever you get don't forget to get an inlet pipe from Pure or VRSF.

They drop the price or something? Steamspeed is usually a couple hundred dollars more but no core is required.
I would look at Kinugawa unit. It has the 49.5/67mm wheel that the PS1 has instead of the steamspeed 46.5/67mm compressor wheel (I think 46.5/67mm is the factory EWG size?). Probably makes 0 difference though... The Kinugawa is cheaper when on sale. Pure is tried and true. The only downside to Pure is that it's a refurbished factory CHRA and a bored out factory compressor cover rather than new machined units from Kinugawa or Steamspeed (they don't seem to have ANY reliability problem so this is a moot point)... Kinugawa being cheaper than PS1 and no core fee made my decision for me. Kinugawa is now owned by TRIDT as they try to bring their brand to the states. Both "brands" are seen as being decent quality oversees in the Euro/Asian car scene. Justin at TT is dialing it in on E30: 6MT 3.15 M3 DCT gearing 5" intercooler Stock intake DV+ Catless DP Not much else to mention power mod wise... Last edited by bbnks2; 11-27-2018 at 12:29 PM.. |

https://www.ebay.com/itm/TRITDT-Turb...1dK2:rk:3:pf:0 I contacted Kinugawa directly and they explained that TRITDT is the new owner and the new headquarters is in NJ. They also verified the seller and the turbo being "legit." There are other listings on Ebay for the Kinugawa branded ones. I have no complaints so far. It's not on sale right now, but, Ebay offers coupons from time to time. |

You unbolt your stock CHRA/cover and bolt up the new one. Everything bolted up fine as expected. Runs strong so far. Quality seemed like it was on point... Kando, kamak dynamics, a few others all appear to be the same company. Popular names for affordable (and reliable) turbos in the drift scene. Only issue was damaging the stock cooling and oil lines. They are a bitch to break the rust on without bending the lines. Just buy new! |

Can you send me logs of your turbo, I wanna purchase it and see how it goes, it's cheap and I like what you're saying about it. I did some research myself. DM me if anything

Honestly, save a bit more. You will eventually want more out of the car. I was in the same position, but I looked for a few months for a used Pure Stage 2. Found the perfect one, for the right price, with the right history. I have had absolutely 0 issues so far. If you are going to do it, do it once.
From my JB4 log on map one, the VR Dyno states 418/448 (Smoothing: 5) at 16 PSI and 8.5 degrees of timing on 93 Oct. No meth, no additional fueling. I'm not even tapping the potential of the PS2. For those who care: 2011 335i E90 6AT w/ xHP VRSF 7" Intercooler VRSF Outlet Pure Inlet Pure Stage 2 Turbo ER Chargepipe AA Catless Downpipe PE Mod Exhaust BMS Intake JB4 BEF Again, log was in Map 1 (16 PSI Target): https://ibb.co/2qYx08G

Only reason I didn't go with a Ps2 was because I was rebuilding an engine and didn't want to drop another $1k. The Kinugawa was a cheap way to "rebuild" my stock turbo and make a bit more power. I definitely didn't want to bolt a 115k stock turbo back up to a built engine.

From what I understand the only thing "stock" about the turbo is the manifold and the housing. Everything else is altered. Pure is known for reliability as well.
Each their own! Anything is better than the stock turbo.

If tritdt decided to make turbo kits with even bigger wheels (similar to steam 78 or pure stage 2) and charge ~1600, they would have people standing in line
