It's kind of hard when there's an F-350 pickup truck in the next spot, thats a problem that I can sympathize with. Insurance still paid, but he had to pay the deductible and was labelled 100% at fault, lucky he paid $60 a year or so for that ratings protector whereby they forgive one at-fault accident.

Unless the one coming out of the space rockets into the aisle, there's really no excuse why a car going straight through shouldn't be able to react in some way or another and instead just plough into it. I can't recall all the times I've had to stop, slow down , use my horn or drive around a vehicle that's leaving from a space.

Isn't this another one of those questions where the answer totally depends on if the vehicle is owned/financed or leased?

Don't worry about it. A garage would be the way to go, but if you don't have one, you can park outside and your paint will be fine. Just stay on top of washing and use a good wax or paint sealant to help protect the paint. I would not use a car cover on a daily basis for the reasons already mentioned -- taking it off and putting it on daily will be more of a hassle than it's worth, and may do more harm than good.

After the first time I scraped my nose, I ALWAYS back into spots now. Espceially into the carport at home because I can't see squat pulling out of the driveway, my oldest son already lost his car to this manuever.

Wow..that was way off topic. Sorry to digress. I have a garage. I live in Socal so the weather isn't bad enough here to buy a car cover IMO even if I did park outside. Although if I had a black/dark blue car I might consider one. At least all the ash from the fires is gone now!!!
Glad all the ash from your area is gone now. Here it's still pretty bad. Had my wife's car washed on Sunday and by the time we got back home there was still ash all over it! Fires still aren't out and I think there is still ash blowing around EVERYWHERE!!! Luckily the Bimmer is sitting in the garage. Always in the Garage. Even now our house is under construction and I insisted that we still have enough space in the garage to fit my car.

You do know what happens when the smog clears over Los Angeles, don't you? UCLA.

Speaking of(and Im not even going to give credit to the bad joke above) did anyone see the Top Gear where they tested the new 997 turbo? Jeremy said the emissions coming from the car are cleaner than the air it breathes in cities like LA.

im fortunately enough to have a garage both at home and at work. so i can get away with only washing the twice a month. i honestly dont know how some of you guys get any sleep at night knowing that your baby is parked outside exposed to the elements (not to mention random idiots/jealous dickheads).

All 3 of our cars park in the garage, unless there is a project going on, then Acura or the dirtiest car parks outside.
