Long lasting Run Flat tires
ANy recommendations on Run flats other than the OEM? The OEM dont seem to last. Im putting like 80 miles a day except for weekends. Around 2k a month a little bit less. These tires seem to be disentigrating. I dont do track, I try to keep it between 60-80 on the highway. ANy help will be appreciated,Thanks!

Some here have claimed 30K on OEM tires, but I think they are smoking something!
More likely is 20-25K, especially rears. My OEM rears were toast at 22K. Fronts didn't have much further to go. You should be aware that the ultra-high performance summer regular tires don't do much better -- I used to get MAYBE 25K on rears with Michelin Pilot Super Sports on my M3, depending on how much my wife drove it (worse with her, she's got a lead foot!). Fronts went about 30K before they were done, typically. |

If the OP has the sport package and is buying performance summer tires, they won't last long whether RFT or not.
Among the RFT all-seasons, the Conti SSRs seem to have decent longevity as do the newer Bridgestone EL42s - but the EL42's are very expensive relative to their performance. Also, the new Bridgestone 960 A/S RFTs are worth investigating. Tom |

My Michelin RunFlat, doesn't last at all, first one busted at 8K, second one 15K.
And Michelin PS2 ZP doesn't offer Road-Hazard at most tire place, there's reason for that doesn't it? Trying out the Bridgestone RE960 RFT All-Season, so far so good. (Up to 8K now) Last edited by ThomasTang; 08-16-2014 at 08:56 PM.. |

Bridgestone just released their new Driveguard tire. I have installed them on several BMW's at work and people seem to like them so far. I believe they have a 50k mile warranty.

No run flats will "last", just by the very nature of their composite make up. If you want long-lasting tires, buy a set of Michelin Defenders

I have 45k on the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT Ultra High Performance All-Season tires and there is at least 5-10k life left. Cant say enough good things about these tires - I think they are the best RFT replacements out there.

I realize my driving style / conditions may or may not reflect the mileage that you were able to achieve, but is the best information about any of the tires I have been considering. These are the tires that I will be getting. Thanks for the information.
