Do you have the price of that 0017 P/N?
Yes they told me is around $680NZD

Performed our retrofit a couple of days ago:

Pictured are 2 CIC units - one used (married) and one unused - I'll be documenting the entire process to see which is the most effective install.

Also pictured:

- HD CID Display
- 2nd Gen TCU (GSM)
- CIC specific Controller (different part numbers)
- Center console trim, LVDS cabling and USB port

At the moment, I am up and running with full operation (including NAV/Voice Control) with the used CIC unit and custom module used for CAN analysis.

Swapping the iDrive does not require any "rip apart", just replace the shifter trim and only if you want the new controller. If you are retrofitting the iDrive then you will have to replace the whole dash and creating wire harnesses, it does not matter who's your supplier of the parts.

Nice... the CIC on the right does not look like it is for a 3-Series, though. Has the trim covering the CIC changed for MY2010-on?

I meant swapping CCC for CIC. I actually like clean look of the older controller, so would probably keep it.

Correct. I have no need for additional MODE or AM/FM buttons - the presets are more useful.

You can code the US CIC to enable presets for the Mode and AM/FM buttons

This retrofit has been widely available for 2 months already.
If you have the CCC Navigation you can install my retrofit kit in less than an hour.
It's PnP and requires no cutting and no aftermarket parts - the complete OEM solution

Just a few sets sent out in last two weeks

You need to change the production date to 0909 and have the correct profile files for the CIC.

I am waitting for the pay day to order the full service from Patryk but just want to get it coded first as I got no sound at moment.

found out the production date is in OV list, coded my CIC, now I am just waiting to pay Patryk to active my Navi and VC. but the TV is not working any more, I can see the coding in CIC is set to TVM_VARIANTEN tvm_dvb_t, but I think my TV tuner is just normal tuner not a dvb_t. does that mean the new CIC will not support old TV tuner any more?

This TV thing drive me crazy. I couldn't figure out what was the problem. I coded the CIC based on the VO list in my car, so it suppose to pick up what option my car had.

The channel search is not working. it sit there but does nothing.
the sreen is blue, and TV standard option has nothing to choose as well.

My TV was working with my CCC and it was in my car when it was brand new.

Anyone can give me some help would be great

Patryk rocks!

Patryk helped me with my 2008 335i retrofit and it is working great! Patryk is the real deal. He is brilliant and helps you through the whole process. Highly recommended. The programming part can be quite challenging, especially if your laptop is not in tip top shape, but with perseverance Patryk will get you through it. He found me excellent parts and provided all the technical expertise to get the job done.

If you are sitting on the fence and thinking about this, you should contact Patryk. When you are finished and you have an entertainment system that is state of the art, you will be very happy that you did it. You will be proud of yourself for tackling a challenging project and succeeding. Your passengers will also be very impressed.

p.s.
I also got some help and advice along the way from Rich S. and Technic, but Patryk provided the turnkey product

Did you do the install yourself?

Tom, any update on your retrofit? I'd like to know if your retrofit will enable HD radio on cars that did not have it before and when it might be available and of course cost. I would like the HD radio feature, which will not work with Patryk's euro CIC units. Any chance you can tell me which US part unit I would need swapped (if it is at all even possible) that would enable it?

You need to get an USA CIC to have HD Radio. There is no HD Radio retrofit for CIC -actually, there has been no HD Radio retrofit ever.

But really all you need to do with the CCC's is install the IBOC tuner. I have one sitting around I've been meaning to put in, but I have to find an extra MOST cable
