I saw a Crimson Red 328i Coupe yesterday on a dealer lot in Honolulu (sorry I didn't have the camera with me). It was a couple of cars away from an Electric Red 325i and an Imola Red M3. It is hard to see much difference, but Crimson is nicer than Electric because it doesn't have the slight orange tint I see in Electric Red. To take it even further IMHO Crimson would take second place to Imola, which is slightly darker and richer looking. It was interesting to be able to compare the 'Reds' available with all the choices in view at the same time.
I've never considered red before, but I just saw an imola e46 M3 today up close, what an absolutely gorgeous vehicle, wow... stunning... the pinnacle of the 3 series...

Car color has nothing to do with your insurance.

Not true. Some companies will charge more for red cars. Considered riskier.
