Just found out this morning that I made it on the Undine on 4/5. Although the tracking was delayed for 6 days, it was a nice surprise to see.

We are the only two on this ship? That can't be right!!!

Anyway, the ship left Southampton. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be participating in the WMO-VOS program. We will have to see it again in 7 days at Halifax.

Now, time to get some real stuff done at work.

Where did you find the schedule for your ship? My trusty white steed is on the Maersk Wave (S6TV), scheduled to arrive in California on 4/24.

Here's something I found over at BimmerFest.com

few interesting tidbits about our vessel:
- it was built in 2003 by Daewoo Heavy Industries
- it is approximately 654 ft long
- in 2006, the ship was lengthened (don't ask me how they do it post construction) by 28 meters, increasing its car capacity by nearly 20%
- it can carry 7200 cars (and mine better be near the front, or else it's about two extra days getting through the VPC.... )
- in case you thought, as I did, that Undine is .... an unusual name, according the WW site: All vessels in the Wallenius fleet have names from operas; this one relates to an opera by Lortzing about a mermaid named.... you got it... Undine.
- part of the reason we have such a high destination charge is due to the amenities on board. The ship also has a restaurant, TV-room/library, gymnasium, outdoor swimming pool and a sauna!

I checked weather.com and the satellite showed a front moving by the ship at about the time they appear to be slowing down. It appears that the ship should have some clearer sailing later today and tomorrow though. The AIS-UK site actually had them projected to arrive in Halifax a day earlier than the WW schedule - that's all I'm going to say...

I'm predicting a late afternoon/evening docking in Halifax on the 17th based upon current speeds...unless this crazy n'oreaster slows them down....
