Anyone running the Helix HPFP Overdrive

Is anyone running the helix overdrive hpfp mod on their Continental? I know it's still early but wanted to see if anybody is having luck or issues with it. Thanks.

There's another thread a video going around about the noise the helix od makes at idle. Are you experiencing loud metal clanking sounds at idle?

Yes the loud metal clanking sounds are normal on a cold start up.

One of the guys in Australia had ran it for about 3 weeks with billet cover and he lost his brake assist (having difficulties to stop the car).

When he carefully limped his car to shop for diagnosis they discovered a cracked vac pump housing...

How long does that last for on cold days? Or warm days.

Holy shite! The brake vacuum is next to the hpfp? I don't recall seeing that down there last time I had her under the knife.

In the image below the red arrow is the HPFP and the yellow arrow is the brake/vac pump. In the subsequent images you can see how the brake vac pump drives the HPFP

Also the billet piece helix offer upgrades the piece in between the red yellow arrows albeit it seems the extra load is then transferred to the next weakest link which is the vac pump housing itself?

Yes they sell a billet casing which replaces the weak cast oem component, but with this billet piece it seems the next weakest link is the cast pump housing (which what occurred in the pic above he had billet piece and pump housing cracked)

They only recently released the billet item so they probably had a few failures, unsure what they'll do now that the pump housing itself will fail..

that's unfortunate. I've seen people designing brackets to try and support the extended weight so hopefully something is released soon!

Wonder how long it took until it cracked..

Starting to look like VTT shotgun might stay the move if wanting to stay DI only.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s crazy you have to buy the billet piece separately?!!

Thanks to everyone providing their experience or sharing information on this product.

I know a shop that designed a bracket to hold HPFP with overdrive pump. Their Instagram page @gdoautomotive
