FUEL PUMP!!??

Hey guys so obviously I'm a new owner of a bmw. Been trying to do my research on my car & learn how to DIY on minor issues like changing my own breaks, headlights & things of that nature, but I've ran into a problem. I'm pretty sure I need a new fuel pump. Can smell gas, won't hold it for nothing & it has a longer crank time than usual. Scared to keep driving it for the fear of messing up my engine. I own a 08 328i series! Can someone tell me the fuel pump assembly I need please? I see some in tank, I see some with fuel level sensor..... I need to know which to buy? Please help!!!!

Thank you. Is that what it sounds like my problem is though? I smell gas, not badly, it's a longer crank time with my push to start (5 - 6 seconds maybe), & it'll start right up after it hesitates the first time. My BlueDriver obd2 scanner doesn't pop up any trouble codes or anything! & is my car still safe to drive until the pump is delivered

You shouldn't have a fuel smell, might be a leak and nothing actually wrong with the pump.

I'm assuming the only way to determine that is to remove the fuel pump itself? & I def have a leak because I can see it under my car! I just know failed fuel pump symptoms are the ones I indicated in one of my post. After doing my research I just needed a second opinion from people who actually own was as well to help me also because the mechanics around here ain't worth a crap & I don't want just anyone messing with my car... but yes I can smell the fuel too

If you smell and see fuel then you have a leak and that is likely your issue with the long crank. If fuel is leaking, it will take longer to build the fuel pressure needed to start and run the motor. What is leaking is yet to be determined. Where do you see the fuel, under the front, middle or rear of the car?
