Never mind. He missed the part I said I was in Colorado

He did, however, suggest that I start out with map 3 though

I was running intake as well, and still hitting those boost pressures (sustained, not just spikes).

There is no "Map 1" anymore on JB3 2.0, Map 1 is for custom purposes only. Because of the altitudes we are hitting this weekend, you will be getting it up there for sure on Map 3.

Go to the other jb3 forum (for which I shall not name or risk getting banned) and put this after
/forums/showthread.php?t=7727

You can find the setting in there for Map 1, substitute 28 for taper though instead of 32, it doesn't need quite that much taper.

Give that a try and see how you like. You can also try Map 3 for a couple runs and see how it compares, but I would suggest taking some logs and see what psi (pre-boost) you are staying at

I just got done installing it. I ran map 2 and map 3 a few times. Not sure if I'm imagining things but it feels faster than stock. I thought I wasn't supposed to feel any changes until the next day or two?

Craig, I don't have the USB cable yet. It was not sent with the jb3 by mistake. I should be getting it on Monday. In the meantime, I will be running on map 3 if any problems, the bills will be sent to Matt and Vincent (so I was told by Matt) :d

oh for sure, but now he has two new turbos to have fun with so maybe he'll break down and get dinan or jb? He's got something new on order as well. But I don't want to give away his fun.

I took it for a drive for about an hour. I am not very impressed with it as of right now. We'll see tomorrow and the next day. Maybe I'll be impressed then

You sir, are now on my list.

But my new sound system will just drown your words of insults out instead. Get rid of one toy, use the money on another

That egg under the throttle may not be broken quite yet. Keep in mind its hot out too, that doesnt help ya, the car is boosting ALOT more now.

Oh yea V, details to come on Sunday about my new car...its an even better investment. More power just = tickets anyway

I think you're right. It needs to adapt to the JB3. I just took it for a drive again, and it definitely feels faster than it was

Congrats on the new toy! I was very worried/stressed about the install since I've never touched (or seen) an ECU; never mind disconnecting and reconnecting wire harnesses! My install took aprox 90 unrushed minutes. I used an 8mm socket/ratchet w/ an extension and an assorted size flat-head screw drivers...along w/ a fine jewelery (tiny) screwdriver. I also had a set of pliers, but never used them.

I started with the JB3 default setting, Map 3 ... however, I'm at sea level (on the beach). I would recommend emailing Terry for his recommended map for your altitude. I'm unsure as to why, but it took my car aprox 10 miles before I could feel the new found power. I drove on map 3 for 3x days (~100 miles) to adapt before I moved up to map 5. I have no issues, no CEL so far...again, I'm at sea level. Even my wife was "giddy" test driving our renewed "ultimate driving machine!" Now, with the money I saved by opting for a 335i instead of M3, I can get a motorcycle I love my wife (aka best-friend) and our careers that allow us to afford our ridiculous hobbies! Let us know how things progress.
