Ok so I have a 2011 328i with the N52 and at random times (sometimes a month apart) when I park my car after driving and take the key out all power is gone and the car has no power whatsoever. No power locks no lights won't turn over or anything. The first couple times this happens I got a jump and it didn't happen for another month. The more recent time it happened I was in the process of jumping it and I shorted out the cables a little bit and a spark happened. The cables weren't connected to another car but shorting then out very quickly completely made the car regain power and be able to start. The car has 68k miles.

Where are you jumping the battery from? At the battery, or under the hood?

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
