Any love for Maserati GranTurismo? Any owners?

They seem to be fairly cheap in a used market along with Quattroporte. Any reliability comments?

the resale value on those is mind blowing. Like you stated Im sure you can pick one up on used market for a steal. I driven a few of them (had some in on trade) and the one thing that really stood out was how nice they sounded! The maint/parts on those is pretty pricey so that would def be something to consider. black on black coupe looks like the bat mobile, very very good looking

Yes I love them but would only buy used because as stated above. You can get a lightly used, few year old one for half price or close to it.

The issue with it is that circa 2006 interior.

Is it anything like the Ghibli? If it is, don't get one. If you do, you got Ghibli'd.

Reliability is questionable, but many swear by them and some say they are even more reliable then curtain BMWs. Quattroportes with low miles are in $30s nowdays

Yeah that's not saying much. I'll bet repairs are a lot more expensive though.

It's crazy how crappy the resale value is on these. But, they do look amazing. And the sound! I can't imagine how difficult it is to get this car serviced. I don't see a lot of Maserati dealers around, unless you live in a hugely populated area.

I had one and would never pick one up again. The stock exhaust sounds amazing and the engine is great but it's got tons of issues and multiple recalls. Thank god was a lease.

4.6 seconds 0 to 60 and 13.1 quarter mile at 109 mph? Not impressed. A 2005 E46 did better than that.
Probably awful around a track too with so much weight.

There is a reason why they are so cheap.

Maintenance of a Ferrari, without having a Ferrari.

Pros:

They sound amazing!

Cons:

Everything else. Maintenance is Ferrari-level-like. Handling is ok - they are definitely more touring cars then sports cars. More comparable to Aston Martin than McLaren if you look after a comparison.

The engine is not the problem most of the time - it is more the electronics of the car which ruins the whole experience owning them.

all bark no bite. I was behind one on the highway a few days ago. He was revving it up, but wasn't going anywhere...

Oh, and people WANT to think it's a pretty car, it's ugly, disproportioned and looks like a transvestite with it masculine fascia and feminine body.

Maserati dealership generally are linked to the same Ferrari franchise...so yes, point well made...hard to get dealer servicing.

Exterior and sounds wise I really like it but like some of the members have mentioned can not stand that shitty interior though.

Crap interior, questionable reliability, mediocre performance, good looks, good steering/handling (in higher-end models), amazing sound.

All in all, I think they're a decent value. I'd only buy one of it were a Stradale, or at least S or something.

Back when my buddy's shop would work on them (they refuse now), we used to have fun laughing our asses off at the looks on the idiots' faces who would bring them in for maintenance after either just buying the used one or the first time bringing the used one in for maintenance when they were given the estimate. "Dude, you bought a Ferrari..."

Exactly.

"What do you mean the service is going to cost XXXX, that is nearly what I paid for it!"
