HAWK HP+ Pads on track/autox
Anyone experience unusually high amount of brake dust from Hawk HP+ Pads during HPDE or Autox?
The problem I have isn't with the amount of brake dust, but with the strength of this crap. It sticks to the wheels in such a way that Simple Green and a bunch of all-purpose cleaners could not even touch it. I ended up using "Comet" to remove it (took around a hour per wheel). A few guys on the Vette forums suggested Pam Cooking Spray on wheels before event. What's the best way to apply this? Should I whip off right after each autox run? Any other suggestions appreciated.

I've heard the cooking spray trick in the past. In theory you just wipe down the wheels and reapply it after each session. Personally I've never given it a try, I always spend hours cleaning the car after an event.

Guessing I'll give it a try, but I am not gonna be whipping them down after each autox run ... what a pain.

yes, HP+'s dust like complete mad. There are also post wash sprays that are supposed to keep brake dust from sticking that you might look into also.
Any brake pad designed for autox and track fun will dust like crazy lol Price you pay for grip |
