Race the Roval at Auto Club Speedway Nov 21,22,23!!
Please don't vote if you aren't serious about coming.
Race the Roval at Cali Speedway and hit 145 like I did. http://www.speedventures.com/events/...il.aspx?id=185 I went last time and had a fricken blast! Here's a thread that I started after the last time I went. Hopefully we can see some more 335s out there. Here's that thread and hopefully we can get as many people at this event as I see at a meet. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172781 I'm up for Friday.

I had 4 sessions in the white (rookie) group on the saturday I went. (Sept 20th) I had paid for an instructor for 3 of those sessions. The instruction level was a tick below what I get at BMWCCA events but still very good and super necessary since it was my first time out there. SV does this crazy thing where they let anyone take a passenger. So, on my 4th session I took a bmwcca "A" group driver as a passenger. I'm not yet comfortable with being solo on a big track. Heck, I'm not really that comfortable with being solo at the autox.
I'll pay for instruction for at least 2 or 3 sessions. I'm not saying I know the track, but I have a clue where the line is. For new guys... pay for someone to ride shotgun. You'll be soooo much faster and safer at the end of the day. |

only perfect practice makes perfect. if you go out without instruction too much you will likely be ingraining bad habits into your driving.

Thanks Satakal! I definitely will get instruction if I can go... I may end up having to take care of all kinds of stuff Thanksgiving weekend so I'm not sure I can make it.

Been planning on going to this weekend for several months. I'm hoping Saturday will be the popular day to go?? Blue Group with (I hope) courteous/safe drivers.

How many groups does SV have?
This is very tempting since there are instructors present. Do you have to do point-by's for passing in the newb goup? The Roval is damn fun course for anyone who hasn't done it. The CCA event was awesome and worth every penny considering they have excellent instructor, snacks, lunch and cold water for you. Satakal, how much was the 3 sessions of instruction? Was it you who said it was $100?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Hmmm, that instruction thing is an OK deal. Not sure who actually ends up with the money at the end of the day. I think SpeedVentures gets it, not necessarily the instructor.
If my schedule is free that weekend, I would do personal instruction for the day at $300, which would include video. |

I've gotten a couple PMs about this, but the only day I can go is Friday.
Hopefully I won't be the only 335 out there.

I won't be there, but you guys who are going should definitely request instruction.
Hell, I'm an instructor myself and request other instructors to critique my driving and give me more tools to do the job correctly. Put it this way: When I first started tracking, I shaved 15 seconds simply from having constant instruction and learning how to drive properly. I thought I was a hotshot too, but street and track are 100% different. Once I got better and my laptimes were consistent within 1 second on any given day, I started upgrading suspension, tires, wheels, power, etc. All of that money spent allowed me to shave about 4-5 seconds off my laptime. |

For those who say that they are going on Sat/Sun, I haven't seen anyone that has registered yet.
so far, I'm the only 335 that has registered when looking at the whole weekend. Again, I'm signed up for Friday.
