Some pictures from my first auto-cross event this past weekend. Boy, did I chew up my tires pretty bad I need to post some pics of those. I think I took 15k miles off the tires, and I only have 9k on them!

I had DSC/DTC on the whole time, and though some will cry "lame!!" I didn't spin out once. Some other cars did spin out, rarely though. The all wheel drive I think helps a lot. OT: but curious though, how would AWD work without DSC/DTC? I think next time I will drive with it off, but I was trying to be safe for this go.

Any who, it was a pretty amazing time. Thanks to NJ BMW CCA for organizing this event.

I think I'm hooked, I just need to find a second set of rims and tires (for auto-cross and track). We may need a new thread for that, but if anyone has any ideas, could you create a new thread? Thanks!

No rubbing issues at all. I wish they made 275/35/17s. I'm trying to get Yokohama to make up a set for me at the moment. I'm hearing the odds are in my favor, but we'll see.
That's awesome.. Good luck getting those made..

What are you doing with your previous set btw??

Sold them to another e90er. You might've met him at that autocross... Black 325xi. He dropped at least 5 seconds on his run with the wider/lighter/stickier set.

All these great pictures make it hard for me to get any work done! Here's me having fun at Road Atlanta last month.

Hey the picture with the Audi Avant, is this a merger of 2 photos? I cannot see how your Bimmer and Audi be on the same track unless you guys were running figure 8's.

I noticed that too. I bet the avant is either parked there as a course worker (which seems weird they would be in their car that close to the track), or they were running out to another area in the infield, and not doing hot laps.

That's gotta be that "Drift Zone" area on the map in the link. Gotta be a course worker, unless he got REALLY lost on that straight.

The Audi had some kind of mechanical issue and pulled off the track onto the Drifting area, as a very astute member guessed. I never did hear what the problem was, but he wasn't parked there very long.

It's been so long since I've done this. Does anyone know what SCCA Solo II classes the 325i/328i/330i/335i compete in?

Which stock class?

Which steet prepared class?

Which mod class?

Here's a few AutoX pictures from last summer about a month after taking delivery. I wonder what the body roll would be like without the sports package? Who needs a windshield when you spent most of your time looking out the side windows?

That picture looks cool (minus the blue painters tape). It looks like you have the whole track to yourself.

I think 330i is in D-stock, that's what I'm in anyway.
