Can Someone Help Reset Airbag light??

So I've swapped steering wheels back and forth and of course i got a Red Airbag light. I went to the dealer yesterday and they want $120 to reset it, I told them I'm all set with that. Is there anyone in the ME, NH, Northern Mass area that can clear the code for me, I'd of course pay you for your services

Yeah I'm in northern MA and have been doing some coding. I haven't cleared an airbag error code before though, so I'll have to do some research on what the problem is exactly. You said you just did a steering wheel swap? Are you sure your airbag actually works, and it's just a coding issue?

Im 99% positive its just a light, as soon as you unplug the airbag and it gets power the light can't be cleared by the car or a simple code reader it has to be done by the bmw specific coder

i went from a stock non-sport to a Mtech wheel by alex, then back to my non-sport. the light came on because while i had the wheels out i had to reconnect the battery w/o the airbag installed and the light cant be cleared

OP - If you want to try out INPA, I would be happy to lend you my cable. Based on this forum http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/arc.../t-505694.html it can be done.

I am actually having the same problem.

I just bought this cable to use with INPA (Hopefully)

http://www.amazon.com/Loftek-Interfa...inpa+cable+bmw

Could someone verify that it will work?

Secondly does anyone have a link to a version of INPA that will work with my 2006 325I?

doubt that cable is going to work.. but you might get lucky.

purchases a similar one off amazon before with a GC, it was dead. luckily you can return it no problem.

the only one i've had luck with is the oneelectronics cable. unfortunately mine broke 2 weeks ago when a friend closed the car door on the cable. ordered another and it's lost in the mail. bad luck. waiting for the claim to go through before ordering another one.

Only difference is modifying 2 pins. They should be soldered together or separated depending on model year.

The oneelectronics does everything with the included adapter.

Ohh im rereading the cable i bought from amazon again..

It does mention this..
Protocol "BMW OBD interface" for older cars:
from 1995 to 1998 (don't need K-line)
from 1998 to 03/2008 (all models)

So im thinking it might actually work.... (I'm driving myself insane right now)

You think i will still have to solder two pins? are there directions out there for that?

Google BMW coding cable solder

Should have a few hits.
The only downside is if the cable doesn't work both ways. You'll have issues returning it.

The pins should be soldered if its listed for those years. Ymmv

Okay had a really busy weekend...hopefully i could get to it this week/ weekend....I guess i'll try the cable as is first and then try soldering it if that doesn't work. I found some INPA software...not sure if it is the best one out there though...would someone happen to have a link that they know will work for an 06 E90?

Does the JB4 have the capability to clear Airbag lights? That would really help me out.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. How did you reset the airbag light at the end?
