Deal on a Clio...

My sister is looking for a NEW car and currently drives an S reg Clio which is now good for the scrappage scheme. What do you guys think on this right here. 6-7k is the overall budget including manufacturer discounts etc

http://www.renault.co.uk/cars/scrap.aspx

Looking at buying the Clio Extreme 1.2. Looks pretty tasty, though not in that colour...

Clio is a good car mate, does she not want something with more guts than the 1.2 version.

Nah mate. 1.2 is her sort of thing. She's not into the performance and all that plus getting one with more guts will cost more and we want to stick within the 6-7k budget tbh. It's just got to look nice really. Just wondered if this kind of deal is worth it with an old car like she has. Seems to be well worth it for a car that's on the road for like 10k.

Any other similar offers people know of??

I showed her that and she was like I'm not driving a MINI

Plus for like an extra 595 odd she could get a brand new car with the warranty on it etc etc. There would be no need for the biscuit tin to sh** itself

Agree, but not too sure you'd get one for £7k

Haven't really looked but are there scrappage schemes as good as this one? From what I've seen so far this is the best offer and it's a Clio (typical girl car)

Does your Sister realise the Renault is French and the only good thing to come out of France is an Englishman coming home from holiday

Yeh but times move on plus I've had some sweet wines from France...

I think she is about ready to pull the trigger on this one. Seems like a fantastic offer along with the scrappage scheme. Many other companies only offer a 1k manufacturer discount...

Excellent Del lol, you sound like my other half. N'owt wrong with taking the piss out of the foreigners, always what keeps us going. Least we do it in fun. Bloody Frogs need to learn to serve vegetables with a main meal

Back O/T, think the French manufacturers offer some of the best scrappage schemes. They were banging on about stuff like that on their TV.

If I was to be a girl and looking for a stereo typical car then I agree re. the Fiesta tbh, shame they're a bit more expensive unless deals can be done.

Hey Helen agreed, however a Fiesta on the road with the same as above entails around 10k and a Ka is like 8k on the same scrappage scheme.

Shame, but we're all probably looking at it from a drivers point of view eh. I'm sure your sister would enjoy a Clio very much and it's a new car and certainly not a bad one!

I had to keep him quiet walking around the Museum as he was saying things like "You will follow the correct route or be shot" in a German accent lol. He's a big history/war buff and comes out with some things about the Germans but it's just in a typically British way. When he and my Dad got together it was hilarious tbh. I'm just as guilty but hey.

Lol at the ratatui. They defo. sell vegetables in the supermarkets but buggered if I know when they eat them. I kept ordering 'salad verte' which was an extra, just to get some greenery in me! Tis expensive over there now though for everything, certainly prices have risen since last year and I'm not sure how the French are managing to be fair as pro. rata they earn less than we do.

We found the same BB, a typical meal out for the two of £80, nothing special

2 x starters, 2 x mains and a bottle of wine

Petrol is more expensive then over here now

And for the first time we took some wine over with us, for a pre going out tipple.

All in £970.00 for 4 nights away, and I got food poisoning.
