335xi mustang dyno v2
Hey everyone, ive had a long day...ive been at my shop for 6 hours today. I had gone to get a dyno done, with these mods: V2, AA exhaust, AA bov, UR catted dps, MSDS short ram stage 1. I was only putting down 295-300 hp, but as much as 377 torque. Somehing was wrong with the car because it kept bogging down in the hgih rpms. I had the shop install the spearco intercooler and stage 2 msds CAI, when installing they found the AA bov charge pipe had a hole about 1 inch long on the side of the pipe from rubbing. I was so relieved we fround the problem....we went nuts changing maps and torque setting. After installing everything we did 2 dynos. one at 92% which came to 320hp, than this one at 94%. The car never really adjust to the maps considering ive been driving wwith this hole for weeks probably. This is on 93 octane and it is AWD on a mustand AWD dyno. Im gonna do some datalogging and let the computer adapt then dyno again. Mustang dynos do run low, this is awd 6mt, and neverr let the computer adapt to 94%, the intercooler, and the CAI, so might not be that accurate.
The numbers are hard to see but it is 332whp/337torque

Not sure...ir rememebr shiv saying something about these cars having a dip around 4200 rpms...maybe the v2 didnt adapt well since we put it on the dyno directly after finding the problem, adding the intercooler, and the CAI. Im gonna drive for about 50-100 miles set the torque values to what it need to be then go again. The dyno couldnt check my boost reading, it wasnt working.

Definetly gona do my datalogs tomrrow.....the only issue i have with htis dyno is the torque values....i was expecting much higher...maybe almost 400. I didnt think the hp and torque to stay the same. When we did the first run with the tear in the bov pipe we saw 377 torque....i dont get it.

Gotta love the xi.
I think your numbers are low because of lack of adaption. I mean one run you were at 92% then next run you bumped it to 94% when really the ecu never adapted to the 92% let alone the 94%. Plus in addition you added the FMIC and CAI. Have you thought about starting from scratch and unplugging the battery and let it relearn at 92% to start with? This gets me excited for my car!!! I have exhaust and v2, but I'm at 5500ft I'll have to schedule a dyno time to get this thing on the rollers.

I looked back at this i had a similar problem with my XI in the high rpms with V1 on the dyno
yet i don't see my car able to make the same WHP as you do, maybe torque... Unless something really got messed up with my runs that or V2 really adds another 50WHP *shrugs* We'll see

I think that major dip will be far less drastic after the adaptation.
Great numbers. Congrats! |

That dip is always there at ~4500rpm. This dyno tends to exaggerate it a bit due to the way it scales the power and tq axis. Notice that it doesn't go from 0 to 400 as it would on a Dynojet. Also, the filtering is only set to 21 which means that it is picking up a lot of mechanical dyno noise as evident by the static at high rpm. Engines don't do that
