Bye bye run flats, hello Michelin PSS
I replaced my Goodyear run flat tires (225/45/18) with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (225/40/18). Because my car originally had 17-inch rims the 45 series tire was one inch taller than the stock setup. Even with the reduced sidewall, the ride quality is much better and as for the handling. . . well, let's just say I should have done this tire change a year ago when I first bought the car. The old tires still had plenty of tread so I was a bit reluctant to replace perfectly good, albeit average tires!! I also like the fact each tire is four pounds lighter and the car seems to roll easier once I let off the gas.

congrats, I just did the same change - difference is unbelievable. Now just need to revamp my suspension since I have 97K on the clock.

Excellent, another victim rescued from the dark world of RFT suffering! I left the dark side when I got my first RFT Flat (oxymoron?) on my car around 15K miles, the bill for a new one plus labor was around $400. I jumped off of the RFT ship and bought a complete set of non-RFT Goodyear Eagle GT's for $550. The ride was both smoother and quieter compared to the RFT's. I went through two sets of Goodyears over 85K miles, never got a flat. Just got a new set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS and love them. Enjoy your Michelin PSS!

Hey I am also looking to switch from My RFT Michelin PSS to regular Michelin PSS. Have any of you have any bad experience after the switch. Say being stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire?

I bought a spare tire kit from leatherz.com which sits in my trunk. Adds a little weight and takes up a little space but gives me peace of mind. I haven't had a flat in 90K miles over two sets of non-RFT.

I just put Michelin PS2s on my E91. Much better ride, and quieter, than the stock Bridgestone RFTs. I'll probably get a spacesaver spare and put it in the hatch area.
