AD08 for 18" - fitting question

Hi all,

I am getting a new set of wheel with following setting: 18x8.5 ET32, 18x9.5ET30. Intend to get AD08 to go with it.

After checking the sizing chart, I am down to this selection:
245/40/18 for front,
265/35/18 for rear.

The dealer advices that due to wider profile of AD08, 245 might be to tall for the front and recommend 235/40/18 instead. And I have been reading that AD08 sizes are normally 10-15mm wider than standard tyres.

I am on e90 320i stock suspension. Do you think the selection is okay?

When people say AD08's run wide, they should really be saying they run VERY wide. I planned on running a 255 AD08 in the front since i currently use a 255 Star Spec in the front until i compared the size.

Heres a picture of a 255/35/18 Dunlop Z1 Star Spec, mounted and inflated, next to my 255/35/18 AD08. Star Specs are already considered pretty wide and square, but the AD08 is considerably wider. Its about as wide as my 265 t1r.

Yea, that's what my tire shop said, I should go with 225/35/19 F and 255/30/19 R... for ET 35 19x9.5 rear

l4wr3nc3 , how do you like the quality of AD08 compared to T1R? Dry and Wet condition and road noise...

2 totally different tires. AD08's are mainly double duty tires (street+track), while t1r's are more ment for daily driving. I think AD08's are better in everyway than the t1r except treadlife, noise, and ride quality.

I just drove my friend's GTI with AD08 in the rain during the past weekend... and it was scary... it seems like there isn't much traction in the wet... I think I'm gonna go for RE11
