Crank hub and charge pipe issues on N52?

I am coming from the N54 which suffered from crank hub issues and charge pipes that would blow up even on stock power levels.

My question is, are either of these two issues at all on the N52? most of the kits available don't even list the N52 as an eligible vehicle for these types of products.

Thanks!

The n52 has no turbo(s) so there is no charge pipe to blow.

If you mean spinning the crank hub, that's also not a concern. There is a small risk of a shredded belt getting behind the crank hub but proper maintenance and/or a crank seal guard will easily prevent that.

Is the crank hub bolt physically different or torqued differently on the n52? Why is it not an issue on that platform? Just curious, thanks!

I don't think there is a difference in the design. Anecdotally, It seems to be most common on modified S55 (and a smaller number of N55/N54) with lots of torque, and less common on manual cars (versus DCT). Since the N52 makes way less torque and never came with a DCT, that's probably a big factor. I've never seen any report of it happening on an N52.

Makes sense, thanks!
