This is what worked for me, I have not tried MSD81 because I thought that was for the N54.
Can you share those files with me please? Thanks!

I download just the e89 folder from sp daten v50.2 and this is what I have for IPO files containing MEVD17. I do have PRG files with those names in the ecu folder. Should I have downloaded the entire daten set?

I have INPA 5.0.6.

You downloaded the correct daten.
You will need the .ipo file MEVD176k.ipo.

That can be found here:

Need help, too

Torr, I wonder if my 2013 X5 xDrive also needs the 3 mevd***.ipo files and make changes in E90.eng file. I don't have those files and I would be very appreciating if you could send them to me. If the files are different, please advise what files are needed and where I can get them. Many thanks.

3. Open up E90.eng in notepad

4. You now want it to look like the following

< E90.ENG >

ENTRY= DDE6M47,DDE 6.0 for M47 TU2,

ENTRY= MS450,MS 45.0 for M54,
ENTRY= MSV70,MSV 70.0 for N52 (NG6),
ENTRY= MSV80,MSV 80.0 for N52KP (NG6),
ENTRY= MSD80,MSD 80.0 for N43 N53 & N54 with EWS4/CAS,
ENTRY= Mevd176k, Mevd 176k for N55
ENTRY=,,
ENTRY= MSS60,MSS60 for S65 (M3),
ENTRY=,,
ENTRY=EKPM60_2,Fuel Pump EKP,

8. Add what's in large font above, using the correct mevd*** that applies to you
Make sure to use INPALOAD.

The 2013 X5 (E70) with a N55 engine should have a MEVD17.2 DME, variant MEVD17KW.

To confirm the variant, run Tool32 and press F3. The Load SGBD, Group file Open Dialog B
ox will appear. Change the file type from SGBD *.prg to Group file *.grp:

Open the D_MOTOR.grp file. Press F5 to execute the info job. Post the output and I'll explain how to install the proper INPA script for your E70.

Here is an example from my MSD81 DME:

I was able to find the correct ipo file, came out to 700kb, saved it to the SGDAT folder in INPA, and updated the E90 text file.

Now when I click on F2 E90>Engine>Mevd 176k for N55, I get the following error and INPA freezes

"das programm wird abgebrochen, es ist nicht genugend speicher vorhanden"

translated: "the program is aborted, there is not enough memory available"

Any ideas?

I had exactly the same problem, and just figured out a solution. You probably have INPA 5.0.2. You must update to INPA 5.0.6. I just replaced the content of C:\EC-APPS\INPA\BIN with one of the INPA Fxx packages, to update it. After that all MEVD* worked.

My install here has what you're looking for, and it's already set up to read N55's.
