Anyone try Llumar Air Blue on windshield?

Was just at the tint shop picking out tint. There's a product by Llumar called Air Blue, specifically designed for windshield use which is 80% transmission, but blocks a lot of infrared and keeps the car cooler. They claim Radar Detector, GPS, and electronic non-interference.

I'm trying to keep "legal" in Florida, so in theory, windshield tint is a no-no, but this might be an option for me as the cops won't be able to tell its on.

Anyone try this yet?
They're only going to charge $85 to do the windshield, if I do the rest of the car at the same time...

Thanks in advance.

Never seen it. I have 60% Huper Optiks on my windshield and love it. Its slightly reflective and super clear. You would have to really look to see if theres a tint on there. It kind of looks like the windshield is super duper clean and thats why its reflective. If you're worried about UV, Infrared, and and overall heat resistance, I wouldnt be looking at llumar in the first place.

Ceramics are known to be the best and HO is considered to be the best of the ceramics. Only metallic based tints will interfere with the electronic signals.

I have heard about it, i was think about doing it over here in hawaii but i have heard it not legal over here. You should try call the police department and ask if it is legal to use this tint. It suppose to be 50 state legal but in hawaii you cant put no tint on the front at all. It a state law.

It totally illegal in Florida too, but I was hoping that they wouldn't be able to tell its tinted since its 80%.

If you get pulled over and the cop tries to bust your balls about tints tell him you dont have a clue, you bought the car used, and you dont believe the front is tinted.

I had it installed on my BMW. Still only a few days old but looks nice. Not sure if it helps with the heat or no, but it blocks out UV also.

I'm in Hawaii and had it done at TNT. They test each car before they apply it to make sure it will be legal

WTF?

Does that mean they tint your car, beat the shit out of it, and then return it. If they dont have a tint ticket your good to go? You cant "test" a car to see if it will be legal. It is either legal or not in your area. Check the state laws.

Perhaps they use something to check the percentage of light transmission once it is on the window? I have a feeling that each glass supplier and car manf have slight differences in their specs.

Llumar air blue is blue, so if you get light tint on the windshield, it won't be noticeable, but it will cut down heat/uv rays a lot
