Hexon Autowerks RR650 Exhaust housing Mold

Figured I would keep this in the local forums for now.

I have been working with Wayne from Hexon Autowerks for the better part of the past year. He had sent me his RR500 but decided it was not going to be enough. The RR500 is basically VTT Stg1 Betas specs and currently with good reviews.

We had talked about upgrading to a larger turbo but not going single turbo. That's when talks about the RR600 now RR650 started coming out. Although I might have them make a ST kit to work with the BG EFR/ Steed speed mani that is a very big TBD.

I have included some rough casting pics that Wayne just sent. This are not finalized/machined so there is still some more work and adjustments to be done but it gives you a good idea of what this company is actually capable of. Making their own Turbo Exhaust housings. So far we have not seen a turbo company even claim to do this. VTT Modify Stock frames, RB chopping up Stock frames / re-welding for Super RB. Here is a company that is making a new complete upgraded Twin kit that I am sure will be within some ST power levels and at that bolt on.

Another thing is they will be within the price range of RBs. I don't have more Specs as for sizing what CHAR ect but when I do will be posting them up. ETA is yet to be announced, as they need a few more weeks for tweaking ect. Once ready they will be installed on the 535xi.

Just figured I would share. Enjoy

Wayne sent me a email last week when I as asking about specs. At the moment they don't have the exhaust housing finished. Once this is complete he is going to be releasing the A/R information along with CHAR ect. He did not have a hard date for me but said within a few weeks. I am guessing end of Jan for the housings to be complete.

I will update when I have more information.

Really nice job, but how this could be within RB range, when we will need this housings, CHRAs, compressor housings and EXHAUST MANIFOLDS?

No, sorry for my bad explain. I talked about "price within to RB" you was talking about for this setup (RR650). I mean, when you have new exhaust housing, you need manifold to this housing (stock/upgrades turbos like RB using OEM manifold) or em I missing something? How will be this part, you posted above, connected to engine?

Ahh gotcha. It's my understanding they are using the stock manifold and cutting off the turbo. The new exhaust housing will be welded back to stock manifold.

As for price Wayne mentioned they should cost around the same price as Regular RBs.

They had an issue with the mold they were making that held up moving things forward. They have just finished the BB CHAR and once they finalize the exhaust housing things should move forward. I don't have a time frame right now, will update when I know more.

Seeing how many other turbos are failing (upgraded ones), I can't wait for these to come out!

Still waiting, being talking to Hexon recently and seems as though these are going to be worth the wain if you don't want to go with a ST option.

I would say the only competitor with this is going to be RB Evo turbos. I would throw MMP into the mix but I think they are staying with a stock exhaust house and only upgrading the char and intake housing. Not sure why they would only do this approach and the exhaust is going to pose a huge restriction. As for RB i am not entirely sure if they are changing out the exhaust housing as well but i know they are making all new inlets.

Hexon is only keeping the stock Mani then mating the new exhaust housing to that and also keeping the stock DP along with all new upgraded piping. I would say this is going to be the ideal solution for those that don't want to bother with ST kits while still achieving well into the high 600 or even 7s.

is there still no time frame on this?
seems like there is a ton of companies "developing" upgraded twins AND single kits but "none of them" have a time frame to complete or even test say production. Seems like the best thing to do is move on to another platform that has more support and MAYBE come back in 2-3 years and see what's available for the n54s then. Tony's stage 3 turbos might be done by then ...

This looks very promising! If these will be available in different AR's I think it will be a game changer! I expect the other vendors will be interested in getting ahold of some upgraded turbine housings for future upgrades too.
