That is a legit mod! Wow, congrats on an awesome daily driver. Was there any custom work required? How did you get the 6MT functions for cruise control etc to work with the diesel DME software?

Around £1500 including coding, the swap took me 10hrs including a diff change to get the right gearing and peddle box swap.
coding takes around 2 1/2 hrs. I did it on 2 post lift, so on your back under it would take a lot longer, i had help just to lift the box in and out
that was it.

No custom fabrication its all 330d m sport standard parts, just some small wiring mods to DDE CAS and FRM modules and 4 can wires need looping.
all the $205A auto trans codes have to be removed and the $207A manual code has to be installed in the vo and frm units, then the rest of the car needs coding to manual.
My car didn't like the $207A code, so he tried the code from his own car a 320d and it accepted that code, the guy who did mine is Polish and really knows his stuff!!

Curious if your cruise control works? Sorry to revive an old thread? Have a bunch of questions if you have the time for PM'S?

Hello RS DAVE. I am currently collecting informations and spare parts to perform the conversion on my 335D E92.
Which code did you add for the manual gearbox?
I saw in the list of codes is the 207A but you say he did not accept.

Im no expert on coding, the guy that coded it is really good. he had all the codes from his own car a 320d msport loaded on his equipment, when he tried the codes that should work and they didn't he played around with different codes to get it running, then recoded the whole car. the $207 is the code for 6 speed manual but my car for what ever reason wouldn't accept it he used the code from the 320d and it started. if you think you are going to code one of these with some $30 bit of kit off ebay you will fuck it up!!! it took him 2 1/2 hrs to code the whole car with different computers. if you go on facebook and find BMW ADVANCED CODING, scroll down, there is a video of us driving it just after he coded it.

Thank you for your reply. I am not an expert in coding too. mounting the gearbox will not be a problem for me but coding is not easy.
I watch the video, it's great.
Could you drive your car without coding (to go to Bmw Advanced Coding)?
How much did you pay for the coding?

No it has to be coded or it won't start. the coding cost £200, btw you need the box with the starter under the inlet manifold, there are two, the later box is the wrong one.

Ok, thanks.
I asked Bmw Advanced Coding if he can do it remotely (I have the tools), he answered ok.
I will give you some news later.
Thank you again for your answers because I begin to think that it is impossible.

You don't need to to think it's possible, it is you've seen it in action. you need the 330d diff, the 335 diff is to low geared and 1st gear is useless and 2nd not much better. 1 thing these cars are a handful with the manual box, even more so if it has had a remap.

I think I keep my diff 2.81 (auto diff) because I have not found for the moment a diff in good condition.
Maybe later, I'll buy a quaife.

Your car!! but that diff is to low for road use, you will gain 500rpm at highway speed at 80mph, on the other hand with the 330 or 325 diff its more relaxed. i had 165mph out of mine and it still had some left in it... find a diff with bad bearings and rebuild it, i can give you the contact for the bearings and seals to rebuild it........

Did you do anything to get the reverse lights to work? I've done a conversion on my e92 335i and that is the only thing I am still trying to figure out.
