Question about replacing rear trailing arm bushings - Loctite?
I am about to replace the rear trailing arm bushings and the service manual calls for Loctite 638 to be applied to the bushing. That is a max strength compound.
I've never seen this mentioned in any DIYs like this one.https://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/tec...eplacement.htm Has anyone applied Loctite 638 to their bushings upon install? |

The strange part is that it is not necessary for the bushing and ball joint supporting the big rear arm holding the spring and shock. |

side question: are you doing just the bushings or the arms with bushings/bushes installed? My rubber in my rear suspension components are a mess and I need help refreshing them.

While the bushings in the arms are replaceable, I don't think it's worth it and I would just replaçe the whole arm assembly. |

there's probably a reason they don't specifiy it, maybe it has more contact surface or the or how it's under load. considering the age of things it good to have on hand if a press-fit feels loose but there is cure time to deal with. there monoball upgrade option also
