I'm looking for 18" 193M rims but there is so many different on Replica that I don't know which one is good.

Like poster said...with Replicas you gotta do some research. I got mine OEM Concepts in Montreal, they came with some good references.

Paid I believe 1750.00 (or near there) shipped to my door, taxes in.

Paid 40 bucks for install yesterday.

I downgraded for winter from the 19" from 17". Contrary to logic, the smaller the tire the better the traction. I don't think there was a huge difference between the 17's and 18's but I still went with 17", way more room in the wheel well for the tire to move around when the ice/snow jams in there.
Not sure I understand this. Yes in winter you want a smaller tire width. But between 17, 18 and 19" wheels, your rolling diameter is always the same (or very close). You won't have any more or less room between the tire and the fender. With a non staggered setup the rear wheels will be a bit more tucked though. Maybe thats what you mean.

My 19in wheels which came with the car is actually a bit smaller overall than the 18in winters i got with rubber on. If you go from rubber edge to rubber edge. Only differance is that the winters are all the same width.

I got mine from OEM concepts as well, and they are SOLID.

My Tire & Rims picks are on page 19 of this thread with Conti Winter tires. I think I like my winter rims better than my summers!!!

hmmmmm really?

Okay I thought it was two fold...width...which we agree on...and...

Rolling diameter(space from tire to fender)....did NOT know it was similar...

I'm not sure to be honest, but even if we did, I would still choose my car over it.

I meant that I would use it in Canada because of the snow etc. and with the all wheel drive and convenience of having four doors and more space would be better.

We don't get any snow in LA!!
The weather here is always nice.

Maybe if I lived in Detroit I'd get that car.

Well basically, as your reduce the wheel size 19" -->17" then your tire wall size increases 35 series on 19" and 45 series on 17". Overall diameter is stays roughly the same. Never exactly of course but pretty close (within 1% usually). Otherwise, the speedo etc. will get thrown off.

i picked up the car yesterday....

Im so happy to be driving a real BMW. This car has a soul, I swear.
I punched it slightly and man i almost lost grip of the steering wheel!

Thanks to everyone who made waiting for this car interesting, and informative. I cant wait to get this car past 2000km so I can write some real reviews about it

Enjoy!

Yeah the wait was as much fun as driving the BEAST!!!

HAVE FUN!!!

Yesterday night I had a littre fun on a long deserted highway onramp ... even shifting at 4-5000, it is unbeleivable, the power seems unlimited! Can't imagine when we'll push them harder. My 2000 km should be done by x-mas last weekend I went near Qc city, 650 km, and beginning of december NYC, around 1300 km !

But the suspension !!!

And one useful feature of Idrive : you can put a speed warning! I've put it at 130 km/hr, but I think I'll have to put it at 140, 130 just comes wayyyy toooo fast! WIth my 128i the radar detector was rarely on the dash, but with this one, it will simply be there all the time!

I wish i had that feature haha, i cant believe how stable the car is at such high speeds. Dangerous!

So far i havent been able to really push the suspension but its comfortable! I just love the gargling when you release the throttle at like 3000rpm in 2nd, mmmmm

Yeah, I set my speed warning at 130 but kept blowing through it. The other night I was stuck behind a semi and the dork beside me was being a tool. Usually I would wait it out until one of them did something - not now!! I dropped it into DS, threw it into the right lane and blew past them - hit about 145 by the end of the semi..... I almost peed myself.....couldn't get the grin off my face for hours...

Anybody thinking of a tune for their car yet? I know it already comes with a little more power than stock, but it is definately missing a lot of mid range torque.
Maybe I'm just expecting too much from the N55 set up, but my N54 stg2 dinan had significantly more passing jam.
I'm waiting to hear back from GIAC about their flash. Dinan still has nothing.
Vishnu claims it will work, but I'd like to see someone try it first.
Anybody else look into it?

FYI - Shadow tint was $670 for 3m across the front. Quality install
- Calgary BMW has fix for BMW apps now
- I still don't have a fix for myinfo. Can't send maps to car

I'd love to try the JB4 chipset but I'm not going to endanger the warranty.... Haven't even checked to see if it's compatible.
