This is one of the most impressive builds I've seen in a long time. Thanks for taking all the detailed pictures. So cool to see how it came together. Awesome work!

So I bought an E60 M5... been going over the entire budget, etc. to Convert the wagon with the V10/6 Speed Manual...

I am seriously considering dropping the whole thing and sell the Wagon as-is with the N52 ESS VT1+ (Just got to 100k, approx 4500 on the ESS Kit). Anyone interested please send an offer. I haven't even thought of a price point yet. Disappointing but life is getting in the way of it all.

Glad to see you're not abandoning it yet! It's been a fun project to watch but it absolutely needs a 3rd pedal to be "finished" if there is such a thing.

So I've been looking for another donor. I decided to keep the M5 in-tact. I'm probably going to give it to my brother. Color change, RS Style .

Some a-hole hit my rear bumper and decided to not even leave a note. I'm going to repaint both bumpers. The front had a few little chips and the winter was not too nice either. But that's because I drove it around with no mercy in the winter on snow tires. Going integrate a custom diffuser and ///M Carbon Fiber tips. The old tips haven't been cleaned in a while... oops.

What a coincidence. I also bought an M5 after having my E90 N51 for almost 8 years. I love NA motors.

Here in NY, a lot of people just keep hitting the bumpers of cars in front of them and behind them to help them gauge how much space they have left. :

So after 4500k+ miles with the ESS Kit, would you say you are happy with this particular upgrade? Are you still planning on getting her dyno'd to see what the real world gains are?

I'm going to be honest today. The product is trash. I've had multiple ESS SC kits and this has been one of the worst experiences. Once the complaints got to a climax people at ESS stopped responding. I don't drive the wagon anymore. I'm planning out a possible V10 transplant. I have the full car donor. ALSO after only that many miles my ST Coilovers that were treated with weatherproofing... one of my fronts is blown out. ST won't sell me another. They want me to send in the one on the car. Not like its inconvenient or anything like that.

Thank you! Wish it drove how I wanted. The SCer was great at first but it always had hiccups. Those hiccups became problems after time. I went through every possible ESS-approved upgrade. I'm done with it.

Hey guys, I used to have an E91 328xi, but some loser in a pick up truck decided to drive right through the front end of her a few years ago and at the time I decided to upgrade to an E90 M3; this was 3 or 4 years ago. I've always dreamed of an M3 wagon and I'm thinking of buying a salvage E91 at some point to do a build.inyone know or think s it possible to convert an E90 M3 into an E91 or should I be starting with an E91 chassis? I'm not sure how feasible it will be to have to buy an E91 and another M3.

Any advice from someone who's done a build or 2 would be great. If you own or work at a restomod or body shop, I'd love some suggestions.

You don't want to attempt making an E90 into an E91... I would get an E91 with a blown motor or flood and slowly swap everything from your M3 into it. The only part that required fabrication is "fitting" the E90 M3 rear onto the E91.

What's your budget? That'll help you decide if you should consider the project or not.
